The ancient art of using Power Chants comes to us from the mystical lands of India and Tibet. The Secret of the Power in Chants is that they enable you to Bypass your doubting mind and enables you to reach the Miracle Powerhouse within you-your Inner” of SubConscious mind.

You possess within this Marvelous Inner mind a tremendous Mental and Spiritual Power with which you can literally perform Miracles in your own life. This remarkable Inner Power is what the Great Master Teacher, Jesus of Nazareth, called the “Kingdom Within” He taught that you must first find this “Kingdom Within” and then All Other Things would be added onto you.

There are many ways of finding this “Kingdom Within” and one of them is by Repeating an Affirmation Chant over and over until the message of the chant is imprinted upon the Inner mind. Repeating a affirmation, though chants, will lead the inner mind to the State of Consciousness where it Accepts as True that which you wish it to Believe.

When this is accomplished the Powerful Inner Mind will cause to appear as a Reality in your life the things for which you asked in your Chant. Your desires will appear as a Reality in your life without fail if you do not set up doubts in your Consciousness mind by Not Believing in the power of your Chant.

You must be careful not to say aloud or to even think to yourself that your chant has no power or it will not work for you. Repeat your chants—Believing—morning and night, on a regular schedule and then relax in a state of anticipation.

Do not worry about How your Good is to come to you. Just rest assured that your Power Inner Mind will answer your request in the Best Possible way for You.

The Turkey Curse is a curse that is placed on those who seek to harm you; it is used to disorient as well as to frighten off potential predators. This curse is known to be the most beneficial when you are in a circumstance in which you have lost the power or control of the situation.

An example of this would be if you were to be randomly getting mugged on the street and you required immediate justice, you would use the Turkey Curse to debilitate your attackers.

How It Works:

The first thing that you would do in the event of an attack is to stop suddenly in your tracks, drop all of your stuff, and close your eyes. This confuses the attackers right away. But then begin to yell out loud over and over again while spinning three times in a circle:

‘GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE’

Then spit at the feet of those you are cursing and while doing so, focus all of your intention on them becoming disoriented while all the while preparing yourself to make a fast exit.

The reason this is such an effective tool when trying to defend yourself is that typically, common criminals are more afraid of crazy people and disease then they are anything else. Therefore part of why this works is because you are technically scaring them. Doing so will at the very least distract them enough so that you can get away and at best you make them leave you alone.

An Electrical Variation:

The point of the turkey curse in this instance is also used to inflict disorientation into the minds of the attackers in regards to machinery, electricity or methods of communication. It has been said to be the curse that causes even a person’s toaster to be out to get them.

In this curse you would focus on any and all electrical objects around the attacker going wrong. Trying to shock them or cause them physical harm. Also this curse is said to last for 30 days as a result of this attacker’s bad ways.

Beware:

If you were to try to use this curse on someone who didn’t deserve it, say for example just because you are just mad at them and are having a bad day, then it is said that the curse would reverse itself and you would instead be the person effected. Keep this in mind when participating with the Turkey Curse.

The energy behind this particular curse is chaotic and not something that can be controlled. It fights on your behalf for justice so that you can get to safety but it is not meant to be misused in any way.

The Discordian Method

On the more light and fluffy side of the world, the practitioners of Discordia, also known as Discordians (commonly known for their…unconventional methods) also use the Turkey Curse but in a modified way and for different reasons.

Discordians use the Turkey Curse as a way of neutralizing negative energy that is being emitted by a particularly crabby or cranky person to whom they refer as Greyfaces. Greyfaces are people who are stuck in their ways, unhappy, and generally not pleasant to be around.

Most times, Discordians will refer to the GrayFace as the government, or those who are stuck walking a monotonous and lifeless path. The Turkey Curse as designated by Discordia is designed to shake the person loose of their stalemate so that they can see life for the abundant and potentially prosperous place that it can be.

You can also do this to yourself, should you be experiencing a time where you are taking life too seriously and you are feeling a lackluster about the goodness in life; doing so, will help to raise your vibrations back up to more of a workable middle ground.

Discordians try not to take themselves or others, or even life for that matter too seriously, because life, to them, is just a random bunch of stuff that happens and it’s just not worth getting worked up over. The Turkey Curse is used to help those that are in need of a jovial ‘kick in the pants,’ spiritually speaking. And their version (according to the Principia Discordia) goes something like this:

The Turkey Curse, Discordian Style

“Take a foot stance as if you were John L. Sullivan preparing for fisticuffs. Face the particular greyface you wish to short-circuit, or towards the direction of the negative aneristic vibration that you wish to neutralize. Begin waving your arms in any elaborate manner and make motions with your hands as though you were Mandrake feeling up a sexy giantess.

Chant, loudly and clearly:

GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE

The results will be instantly apparent.”

As you can see, the technique utilized by the Discordians is a funnier way to go, but chances are you can use this exact same style to disorient potential attackers. However that does change the spirit in which the Discordians practice this curse. But, they would most likely shrug their shoulders and say, ‘To each his own.’

About These Curses:

The first curse is for self-preservation of the physical kind, and the second example is for self-preservation of the spiritual kind. Health and safety are your birthrights. Happiness and joy is like having a delicious desert. If you use the Turkey Curse wisely, you will find that you are a safer and happier person.

Here we have a list of thirteen steps for successful spell casting:

  • One: Think clearly about what you need.

If you need a car, perhaps it would be best to do a spell that will help you to bring a car into your life, rather than asking for a few thousand dollars to come your way so that you can buy a car. Magic can work in many ways and you might be limiting yourself if you don’t stay open to all possibilities! But remember, magic works best if you really need something, rather than just desiring it.

  • Two: Set a goal that is clear, concise and unambiguous.

Focus only upon one work of magic at a time. For best results, don’t scatter your power, channel it in one direction.

  • Three: Avoid distractions when performing your spell.

To be effective in your magic, you must be fully focused upon your intentions. Put time and energy into preparing yourself and your spell. Find a location where you can work your spell in private, without any distractions.

  • Four: Choose the right timing for your spell.

By choosing particular days, and by working in harmony with the phases of the moon, you can enhance the effectiveness of your spell. The days of the week and the phases of the moon all have specific energies associated with them, and by knowing the right time for your spell, you can give it greater power. Working magic is like swimming in the ocean, you are going to get to your destination quicker and easier if the currents and tides are moving in the direction you are wanting to go. You can still get there even if everything is going against you, but it will not be as easy to achieve your goal.

  • Five: Use appropriate symbols for your spell.

When doing the spell, have appropriate music, incense, colors, objects and tools around you to reinforce the message of the spell to your subconscious.

  • Six: Set a time for a result.

Include in your spell an indication of when you would like to see a result. If your spell is for greater prosperity, include a date for when you would like to see that extra cash in your wallet or purse.

  • Seven: Create a simple rhyme to use during the spell.

Chanting a few appropriate words that you have written yourself, will have a much better effect than reading text from an ancient spell book. Repeat your wording lots of times during your spell. Repetition is the key to sending a message to your subconscious.

  • Eight: Use the “For the good of all!” clause.

When creating the wording for your spell, remember to include the phrase, “For the good of all!” This phrase will help your spells to enhance your life, without having your good fortune being at the expense of another.

Another useful phrase is, “This or something better now comes to me.” Often that which you want at this point in your life may be different to what you really need, and it’s only when you look with hindsight from a future point in time that you can realize this. So, by asking “for this or something better,” you leave yourself open to greater possibilities becoming available to you.

I have heard so many examples of spells going wrong when the “For the good of all!” wording is not taken into consideration. One friend did a spell to get $1,000 for a holiday, and two weeks later his house was burgled, and the insurance reimbursement check ended up being $1,000 exactly.

Another person I know did a spell so that she could have some time off work, and she promptly broke her leg, requiring three months off work! I have also heard (many times) about people who do a spell to lose weight, and they get diarrhea, or excessive vomiting, or both. They sure lost weight, but not in a healthy way. Be careful for what you wish for, because you may get it!

  • Nine: Realize the consequences of having what you asked for.

Apart from the examples just given, there are other consequences to be aware of. When something comes into your life, certain responsibilities come along with it. For example, when doing a spell to get a car, remember that along with the car comes registration costs, petrol and repair bills, perhaps monthly loan repayments, etc. Are you in a position to handle these?

A Law of Exchange is always at work when magic is used. Sometimes what you have wished for seems to come out of thin air, with little effort on your part, but often it will arrive from more mundane sources. For example, it may be that after doing a spell for a car, you win $20,000 in the lottery and you can buy it… Or it may simply be that you are offered the chance to do extra hours at your work, or a second job turns up so that you are then in a financial position to afford a loan for the dream car. Are you prepared to give this extra energy to the universe/gods in exchange for the items you wished for?

Another way in which money can become available to you after casting a prosperity spell, is through being asked if you want to sell something that is of value to you. Are you willing to part with that family heirloom if someone makes an offer out of the blue?

  • Ten: Avoid using words that you don’t understand.

Spell books are great for getting ideas, but the spell will work better if you put it into words that are meaningful to you. In the book “The Key of Solomon the King” there is a spell for gaining inspiration, and at one point the spell-caster is supposed to say the Hebrew words, “Vegale hamicata umsa terata yeh dah ma baxasoxa un horah himesere…” But this sort of wording does nothing to focus awareness upon the aim of the spell.

It is much better to make something up yourself. For example, for an “inspiration” spell, you could scry into a water-filled cauldron and say the words, “Beneath the stars and moon so bright, from cauldron deep and candlelight, the answer that I seek tonight is now revealed into my sight.”

  • Eleven: Use positives not negatives.

Make sure that the wording of your spell is phrased in a positive manner. For example, with a health spell don’t use wording such as “I don’t want to be sick anymore.” Your subconscious doesn’t recognize words like “don’t want”, it can only focus on words that it can put an image to, i.e. the word “sick”.

Spells are basically affirmations that include images or symbols, so while doing a healing spell, visualize yourself as healthy and turn this phrase around to something like, “I am healthy, I am strong – all the day and all night long!”

  • Twelve: Be realistic.

Expect miracles, but don’t go overboard! A love spell will help you to attract romance into your life, but a love spell to attract a Hollywood movie star as your lover is unrealistic. Even Merlin would have trouble with that one!

  • Thirteen: Raise power for the spell (if appropriate).

You can raise power to help send your wishes off into the universe by drumming, chanting, dancing, or even by running around your magical circle. Power raising is like pumping up an air rifle before aiming and releasing the energy, so after raising energy, drop to the ground and visualize your spell as fully manifest. See it in your mind clearly, and send this image into the universe knowing that it has already come true.

  • Please remember:

A magic spell will not work by simply repeating some words that you find in a spell book. The magic of a spell is contained within you – your needs, your desires, and the energy you are prepared to put into the working of the spell. If there is no personal power in your spell, it is only words.

Author: Don McLeod

When people think of the word magic, the average person probably thinks of Samantha in “Bewitched” twitching her nose to turn a cat into a horse, or of Macbeth’s three witches standing around the cauldron while chanting, “Eye of newt and toe of frog, wool of bat and tongue of dog…” But magic has nothing to do with the supernatural. True magic comes from within ourselves.

It can only work within the boundaries of natural law, but it can seem to happen miraculously, simply because most people don’t understand the extent of the natural laws that we are dealing with. The fundamental idea behind this is that the thoughts you put out into the cosmos are a form of energy, and this attracts other energy in many forms. Your brain is like a radio beacon that is constantly sending out messages…and the universe (or the gods) receive those messages and transmit a reply back to us in one form or another.

Thoughts are energy, and words are powerful. These are two truths that are the basis of spell work. There is a natural law that states that on a metaphysical level, like attracts like. By visualizing an object and affirming to yourself that you want this item to manifest in your life, you are sending a clear message to the universe and to your subconscious as to what you want…and the cosmos will listen…and a corresponding image to the one you sent out will soon find its way to you. What we send out in thoughts and words, we attract to ourselves. What you think and what you say has more power than you can imagine. This is a type of magic in itself.

We use this type of “spell” all the time, mostly without realizing it. How often do you say to yourself or others, “I’m always broke, there’s just never enough money to go around!” And what’s the result? That’s a form of magic that you are working against yourself every day.

Some other examples that I hear people say are: “As soon as I stop dieting, I put weight back on,” and “My car is always breaking down.” In this article, we will be looking at using this same principle, but we will turn it around so that this form of magic works for us to enhance our lives.

Magic is a natural process that can be easily accomplished. It is a wonderful demonstration of the power that we each have to bring about change in our lives, and in our world around us. The life energy within us, and the universal forces that surround us, are energies of specific vibrations. In order to create magic, we simply need to attune with the vibrations of what we desire, and we need to know how to send the message of our needs to our subconscious and the universe.

Spells are practical tools that help us to attune with our desires, and then, in conjunction with our will, we direct this power inwards and outwards to ensure manifestation. As Aleister Crowley said… “Magic is the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will.” The subconscious mind is the source of the personal power used in magic. And spells are an effective way to convey messages to the subconscious because spells incorporate symbols – and symbolism is the language of the subconscious.

Know that words have power. And when words are used in conjunction with symbols, then the results are magical!

In the book “Myth, Religion, and Mother Right“, the author J.J. Bachofen eloquently describes the power of symbolism: “Human language is too feeble to convey all the thoughts aroused by the alternation of life and death and the sublime hopes of the initiate. Only the symbol awakens intimations; speech can only explain. The symbol plucks all the strings of the human spirit at once; speech is compelled to take up a single thought at a time. The symbol strikes its roots in the most secret depths of the soul; language skims over the surface of the understanding like a soft breeze.

The symbol aims inward; language outward. Only the symbol can combine the most disparate elements into a unitary impression. Language deals in successive particulars; it expresses bit by bit what must be brought home to the soul at a single glance if it is to affect us profoundly. Words make the infinite finite, symbols carry the spirit beyond the finite world of becoming into the realm of infinite being.”

From what we have described so far, I’m hoping that you now realize that magic comes from within. And the more energy that you put into creating a spell, the better the result will be. For a spell to be effective, you cannot simply say words from a spell book and hope for the best, you have to know how to put power into the spell.

The spell is not the magic, it is only by putting power into a spell that you create the magic.

This spell is best performed outside in nature, in a secluded private place free from interruption. It can also be done indoors if an outdoor area is not possible. You will need your ritual items and/or items to represent the four elements, a crystal, and also some food and wine.

Cleanse your self and space before you begin the ritual. This could include a ritual bath, smudging, or any other method of cleansing that is comfortable for you.

Stand facing east and say:

”I call to the forces of air to watch over my rite and to offer assistance and protection and to protect me from harm.
Hail and welcome”

Bow your head and turn to face the south, say again:

”I call to the forces of fire to watch over my rite and to offer assistance and protection and to protect me from harm.
Hail and welcome”

Again bow your head and turn to the west repeating:

”I call to the forces of water to watch over my rite and to offer assistance and protection and to protect me from harm.
Hail and welcome”

After bow in reverence to the element turn north and say:

”I call to the forces of earth to watch over my rite and to offer assistance and protection and to protect me from harm.
Hail and welcome.”

If you use ritual tools, place them in their cardinal points. The wand in the east quarter, the dagger in the south, the cup to the west and the pentacle to the north.

Note: If you do not use ritual tools, use representations of the four elements. These can be actual elements, such as a bowl of water to represent water, a potted plant to represent earth, etc – or something else that is meaningful to you.

Above the wand (element of earth) trace the invoking pentagram of earth and say:

”I invoke the power of earth,
I invoke the power of Gaia.”

See the pentagram of earth being burned into the air glowing with a pure brilliant white. Feel the power in you rise, when you can feel the pentagram there move on to the dagger and repeat. Also repeat this with the cup and the pentacle – or with each of the elemental objects you have placed in the four directions.

Go to the center and see the pentagrams flaming and glowing about you. Stretch you arms above your head and look to the heavens and in a strong, clear voice with passion say:

”I invoke the power of my eternal spirit.
Invoke the power of Gaia”

At this point visualize white beams of light coming from the pentagrams surrounding you and meeting at the crown of your head. Feel the power root you to the earth let it flow throughout your whole being.

After this face the direction of earth, the north, and say again with feeling and heart:

”I come here today to celebrate and invoke the power of Gaia as she is reborn into the maiden. With her she brings new life, love and change. The wheel of the year turns yet again. I invoke you Gaia.”

Turn to the east and pick up your wand. Hold it in front of you and say:

”I invoke the airy nature of earth free flowing but still solid and strong.
I invoke you Gaia”

Again feel your power rise. Place the wand down and turn to the south. Hold your dagger high and say:

”I invoke the fiery nature of earth volatile and destructive.
I invoke you Gaia.”

Place the dagger down and turn west. Hold aloft the cup and say:

”I invoke the watery nature of earth, subtle, in movement and of power.
I invoke you Gaia”

Place the cup down and turn to the north. Pick up your pentacle and say:

”I invoke the true nature of earth, solid, dense, grounding, powerful.
I invoke you Gaia”

Stay facing north go back to the center and stand beneath the point where the pentacles have met up. Look upwards and say:

”I invoke the earth aspect of of my spirit.
I invoke you Gaia”

Pick up the crystal and hold it in front of you and say:

”This crystal is part of me, it comes from the earth.
I invoke you Gaia”

Now for the last invocation. The energies around you will be chaotic and rushing all aspects of earth represented feel them and then stabilize them and when you feel that this has been done say in a strong, loud and clear voice:

”Gaia your child speaks to thee. I ask for your help, guidance, power, and protection. You are nature. You are Divine. I celebrate you in all your forms. Gaia I invoke you come into me. This is my will and my power so mote it be.”

Repeat the invocation until you feel an immense force come from beneath you and enter into your being. A feeling of change and manifestation will take over you. DO NOT FIGHT IT. Also Gaia will give you a word of power which you can use in rites and spells. Once this word is spoken the invocation is over and you shall return to your normal state. Approach the food and wine and say:

”Now to eat and drink in celebration of the Mighty Mother.”

Once you have finished. Thank the elements and Gaia and close the circle as you usually would or in whatever way feels right. With the power given to you from Gaia, you may wish to charge some a crystal, amulet or talisman in honor of her.

You will need paper, pencil (a pen won’t do), and a nice big eraser. A white vanilla scented candle.

800px-Faber-Castell_pencil_and_eraser

Step 1: Light the candle, and then think of one thing in yourself that keeps you from trusting or maybe even hearing your inner voice, your own opinions, your own hopes and dreams.

Step 2: With your pencil, write a description of your block on the piece of white paper.

Step 3: Think about this block for a while, and all the ways in which your life would be improved if it could only be erased.

Step 4: Pick up the eraser, and begin to erase what you wrote on the paper. As you are erasing, say the following prayer three times:

Lady, cleanse me of this block.
Help me know through and through that:
the earth has wisdom, my body has wisdom,
a tree has wisdom, my heart has wisdom,
a bird has wisdom, my mind has wisdom,
Lady, cleanse me of this block.

Help me realize:
an ocean holds knowledge, just so does my mind
a fox has wiles, just so am I wily;
a child knows God, and so do I.
Help me find my innate wisdom and knowledge.

Lady, cleanse me of this block.
Help me know of these things:
common sense feeds the soul;
lyrical mysticism and visionary hope
belong in the everyday world;
I can grow and stretch a bit spiritually, every day.

Step 5: If any smudges or pencil marks remain on the paper, if any trace of the original writing can still be seen, take the pencil now and turn them into stars, spirals, flowers, and suns. When there is no trace left of what you originally wrote, the ritual is complete. Snuff the candle and say:

Thank you Goddess.

Fate, it is said, may be influenced in your favor if you know your personal magic word.

To find it, light a white candle and sit facing south. Take a dictionary; close your eyes and turn the book around several times so that you are unaware of which way it is facing.

Eyes closed, fan the pages until you feel compelled to stop at a certain page.

Eyes still closed, wander about the page using your forefinger until you feel inclined to pause. Open your eyes, look at the word under your finger. If there is more than one word, pick the first that jumps out at you from the page. This is your magic word.

You can remind yourself of your magic word mentally or verbally whenever you wish to tune in to a situation, or whenever you feel you need a boost of energy. It will change the vibration around you and attract good influences.

Important note:

It is better not to talk about your word too much – if at all. The more you verbalize about it, the less power it will have. Too much talking about something, particularly something sacred and magical, tends to dilute the energy. This does not mean that your word must be a “secret”. It does mean that it is important to keep your “magic word” to yourself, and for sure do not share it with anyone who would make light of it, or belittle you in any way.

121Combined with the Law of Names is the Law of Words of Power. This law is greatly used today, some think its usage is over exaggerated. Words or terms like teacher, professor, doctor, technician, priest, the Pope hold some people in awe.

For example, many, especially Catholics, are just as overwhelmed by the Pope as ancient people were of the village witch doctor or sorcerer. They believe him to be holy and possess a higher power which illustrates the Pope or witch doctor only possess the power which people give them. If their authority was not recognized by the people their power would be worthless.

In the above example the Pope who is widely recognized is given respect. But, the reverse can also be true, strange and mysterious words can effect people differently. The word “abracadabra” can have a great effect on some people, especially those uneducated or who believe in magic, particularly when it is spoken by someone they respect. The word “abracadabra” has no meaning by itself; however, its significance comes from its mysteriousness to the listeners and the authority of the one saying it. It the listeners have little or no regard for either the word or the speaker then “abracadabra” loses all effect on the audience.

The power of the sound of words is demonstrated in chanting which was used by ancient peoples as it is by Neo-pagans. Chanting is the repetition of words and sounds which usually are meaningful to the ones chanting them. It is employed in religious, ceremonial and magical rites. Chanting, often combined with dancing, drumming, rattling and hand-clapping is generally performed to alter the consciousness and raise power.
