An eclipse can be an excellent time to make contact with the Faerie realm. Here is a great how-to that I found at Ancient Magical Recipes:
To initiate contact with the Faeries during the eclipse go out in a place which feels familiar and alive. By that I mean a place in Nature that you love either because you felt close with the Fae or because you have really good memories of that place (for example having a good time) or just because that place feels like home. If you don’t feel that there is a specific place in mind then it is better to stay home and meditate about your connection with the Fairies. I am perfectly sure that if you truly want to contact the Fairies your time will come.
When you arrive at your favorite place make sure you bring an offering. Any offering that you feel that would be appropriate. From my experience sugar, honey, ribbons, wine, milk and fresh fruit are well accepted.
Now find a place that feels “right” as with the fairies you must always embrace your intuition. Close your eyes and breathe, breathe slowly and deeply, feel your surroundings, feel the life force in the wind, the trees, the grass, the stones, the water, the ground, the flowers, the animals. Then extend your mind to those beings that protect this place that surround everything: the guardians, protectors, allies of the Forest, the light that penetrates the darkness, the life that accompanies and embraces all life and there you are. Part of the circle, part of life, there breathing deeply and slowly, alive!
Now proclaim:
My name is (name or magical name) and I am your ally
Love brought me here, love is all I feel, love will be with me when I leave with my heart clear
Fairies of the Forest hear me well and hear me dear:
The door is open
I feel no fear
Me and you we are kith and kin
Be with me and guide me
That’s all I seek
And as I claim so be it!
Perform this spell during an eclipse or a waxing moon phase. Arrange sea shells on a secluded beach, in the shape of a circle. If you do not have access to a beach, perform this ritual in a garden or forest using stones, branches or flowers to form the circle.
Kneel at the center facing the ocean. Light a blue candle and incense of your choice. Raise arms high and recite:
“With smoke and flame this spell’s begun.
O Goddess of the stars, moon, and the sun,
Let the healing power begin.
Let the Earth be whole again.”
“The Earth is my mother and I am her child.
The earth is my lover, free and wild.
Heal on the outside, heal within.
Land and sea, fire and wind.”
“With love sincere,
I chant this prayer to make mankind
Begin to care.
Let every sister and every brother
Heal the wounds of the Great Earth Mother.”
“Let the healing power begin,
Let the Earth be whole again.
Heal on the outside, heal within.
Land and sea, fire and wind.
So mote it be!”

The Kalevala is a treasure trove of ancient shamanistic practices including the following healing spell.
For this ritual, stand in the east and call in the element of air. Ask in all humility for assistance. Light a blue candle and a stick of sandalwood incense as an offering to the element. Now say:
Sickness,
Vanish into the sky!
Pain, fly up into the air.
Burning vapor,
Rise up into the air!
So that the wind may take thee away.
So that the storm may chase thee to far places.
Where neither Sun nor Moon gives light.
Where no hot wind burns the flesh.
Thank the element of air, and let the candle burn down. As with all magic, in addition to this spell, it is essential that you have done everything possible in the physical realm to aid the healing

Light a red or pink candle and gather some catkins (flowers) of the Hazel tree (the timing would be perfect for around Valentines day) and wrap them in a piece of red or pink tissue paper. Hold it in your hand over your heart as you recite your incantation. Burn the bundle while visualizing your intent.
You can use any incantation that resonates with you for this spell. Here’s a simple one:
“Lover hear my call to thee.
Let these words enchant and draw.
Lover find your way to me.
Love is the magic, love is the law.
As it is willed, so mote it be.”

If there is not enough romance in your life, try this little spell to add that special exotic energy to an already okay relationship, or even to help a new one start off on the right foot.
You will need:
- New music CD (see note below)
- Sandalwood incense
- Sandalwood Oil
- Hot pink or magenta paper
Choose a really romantic CD that you know for a fact your significant other will like, but choose one he/she doesn’t own. On a Friday night, open the CD, light the incense, put some sandalwood oil on your body, and have as much fun as a person can have alone (use your imagination) while clutching the CD to your heart, saying:
Sound of love,
Love of sound,
Bring it through,
Bring it round.
Eros Audiere!
Mark the top of the CD case with a pentagram, using the oil, then pass it through the incense smoke and say:
Full of lust, love and light,
Music of the heart fly free,
Fill us with joy and might,
As we listen, may it be tonight!
Wrap the CD in the pink paper and give it to your significant other. Make sure you listen to it the first time together, and wear a little of the sandalwood oil. Play the CD again… And make beautiful music together!
Note:
This spell is a little out dated, in that not everyone listens to music via CD anymore. So you may need to make some adjustments if all of the music you listen to is via iTunes or some other internet venue. Be creative, and have fun with it.
On a small leaf make an image of yourself. This can be something as simple as a stick figure and your name. On another make an image of the type of person you wish to meet. Again, a stick figure with words detailing the persons attributes will be fine.
With a green thread, sew the two images together face to face and knot the string tightly.
Go to a tree that emits loving vibrations and find a natural crevice or hole in the tree (don’t make one). If none is available, perhaps the place where a branch is joined to the trunk can be used, as long as it is secure.
Lodge the leaves firmly into the crevice and say as you do:
Tree of Earth, Water, Air and Fire,
Grant me the love that I desire.
Bury seven pennies at its base and it is done.

Invocation for exciting love in the heart of the person who is the object of our desire with the help of the 137th Psalm.
Pour oil from a white lily into a crystal goblet, recite the 137th Psalm over the cup and conclude by pronouncing the name of the angel Anael (or Hamiel), the planetary spirit of Venus, and the name of the person you love.

Next write the name of the angel on a piece of cypress which you will dip in oil and tie the piece of cypress to your right arm. Then wait for a propitious moment to touch the right hand of the person with whom you are in love, and love will be awakened in his or her heart.
The operation will be more powerful in effect if you perform it at dawn on the Friday following the new moon.

The ancient Greeks also had a great many aphrodisiacs meant to instill a desire that was more than just temporary. Most of them appear to involve the rubbing of pungent or stinging mixtures onto a man’s penis. Here’s an interesting one:
“Take a crow’s egg, the juice of the crow’s foot plant, the bile of an electric ray from the river, work them together with honey and say the spell whenever you work them and anoint your genitals with them.”
The spoken spell is this:
I say to you, womb of
{… name of woman… }
gape open and receive the seed of
{… your name… }
Say these things as you work the substances, and whenever you anoint your genitals, and so have sex with the woman you want. She will love only you, and no one but you will copulate with her.”

Get yourself some orange juice, some spring water, some rose water and a dash of nutmeg.(Oranges are very potent symbols of love, if your partner brings you one you can be sure he adores you.) Anyway, blend a beautiful refreshing drink from the above (don’t overdo the nutmeg) and drink it with your lover-you don’t have to tell him what it’s for. If you are looking for a new love or more love from an old love you can get it now. Your can have all the love you want. Keep giving love and it will come back to you 3 fold. “What goes around comes around”. Every time love is given you get more for yourself.
All you have to do is say,
“I’m really ready for love now!”.
Collect one each of the following stones: turquoise, amethyst, garnet, emerald, sodalite, citrine, black tourmaline. Put all the stones in a red or pink glass bowl. Cover them with the sea salt and leave them in a window where the sun will shine on them for 5 minutes or longer. Leave the stones in the salt for 7 hours or longer. Take all the stones out of the salt and pour the salt down your kitchen drain while hot water is running (this will take away negative vibrations). This combination of stones is a very strong love magnet.
Now as you put the stones into a small bag and say:
I give love so I will get love
I do this with love and joy
The love I desire will come to me!
Everyday for the next five days give one of the stones to someone you care about (this could be a friend or a brother or sister, as well as a lover, as long as you love the person). It doesn’t matter which stone it is, because you have empowered each one with your love. Keep the remaining two stones in the Love bag close to you at all times.
