The Summer Solstice love ritual is strongest done during the June full moon, but the ritual may be done on any full moon. It is best done out of doors, but may be done indoors.
For this love spell, you need:
- 1 rose quartz
- 1 crystal quartz
- 1 blue quartz
- 1 emerald
- 1 citrine
- 1 garnet
- 1 black tourmaline
- 1 bag
- petals of 3 roses
- daisies
- red or orange cloth
- 1 large candle in red, gold or orange
Bathe before doing the ritual. Add flowers to your bath. If you shower, rub you body with a flower scented lotion or oil. Clean the stones with running water.
Clean your altar. Cover your altar with a red or orange cloth to honor the sun. Add some daisy blossoms to your altar. The daisy gets its name from day’s-eye because it turns to follow the sun.
Place the gold, yellow or red candle to represent divine Fire at the top middle of your altar. Sprinkle the petals of three red or pink roses on the altar. Place the rose quartz in the middle of the altar, make a circle around the rose quartz, with the other stones.
Pick up the crystal quartz in your left hand and say:
May I give and receive love as pure new snow.
Put the crystal quartz back and pick up the blue quartz in your left hand and say:
May I give and receive love as peaceful as calm water.
Put the blue quartz back and pick up the citrine in your left hand and say:
May I give and receive love as warm as sunlight.
Put the citrine back and pick up the emerald in your left hand and say:
May I give and receive love as strong as the oak tree.
Put the emerald back and pick up the garnet in your left hand and say:
May I give and receive love as bright as fire.
Put the garnet back and pick up the tourmaline in your left hand and say:
May I be open to love and may my love protect my loved one.
Put the tourmaline back and pick up the rose quartz in your left hand and say:
May I always be filled with love as I fill my lover with love.
Kiss the rose quartz three times. Gather all the stones with a few rose petals in both hands. While holding the stones and rose petals in both hands say:
My love is strong and surrounds all I do
I will always have all the love I need
Love is part of everything I do.
As you hold the stones and rose petals in your hands, you will know that love is with you. Shake the stones three times and then put the stones and a few rose petals in the bag.
This part must be done outside. Take the remaining rose petals and throw them in the air so the breeze can multiply your love. Every full moon take the stones out of the bag and hold them.

If you possibly can, on the day of the Solstice go to the seashore, and at the low tide draw a solar image in the sand. Make it as large and ornate as you can, for this is in honor of the Sun. In the center place three stones or pieces of wood for three things you would like to change in your life. Position yourself where you can watch the incoming tide slowly erasing your image. As this happens, visualize the waters taking away the old and bringing in the new.
If you are unable to get to the shore then gather flower petals in reds and oranges and perform the same spell at the top of the highest hill you can reach. Try to time your arrival so that the sun is at its zenith just after you have created your image in petals. Let the wind take them in the same way as the tide above. If it is a very still day you may need to leave the pattern after your visualization, but rest assured that the magic will still work.
Whichever of these you choose to perform, follow it by taking a walk. As you go, take care to notice the seasonal changes around you. The Solstice marks the start of Summer proper. This is the season when the crops are ripening and the trees and bushes are starting to produce fruit. It is also the time when we should look at our own lives and give thanks to the Gods for those things which have born, or are bearing, fruit.
A difficult person is someone who throws their emotional energy at you , causing you upset and shock, making you feel defenseless. A difficult person is someone who persecutes you or obstructs your path in life. A difficult person is someone who tries to cause you emotional or physical harm or damage your reputation. A difficult person is someone who tries to steal your belongings, wealth, or creativity.
Such people can be dealt with, but the golden rule is that you should not at any juncture wish them harm. What you must wish them is self- knowledge. You can direct the thought energy of self-knowledge to them in such a way that they will lose their sting toward you.
Do this exercise twice a day, in the morning and evening. Continue it for 3 or 9 days. Longer, if necessary.
Sit quietly, focusing upon the individual and picturing them in your mind. Then direct this thought toward them, speaking it out loud either three or nine times.
“May all blessings flow to you. May self-knowledge flow to you. I reclaim the power you have taken from me, it is mine to take back, it is my right. May love and good fortune come to you now. As I speak now you are no longer a problem for me! Your difficult energy dissolves into wisdom. You regard me with respect.”
At the end of this clap your hands three times very loudly to seal your invocation.
This exercise works with great effect. Think of this as a spiritual kick in the backside that leaves no bruise, creates no harm, and gives you a compassionate view of the situation and the difficult person or people concerned.
Here’s a magickal Feng Shui exercise designed to bring helpful people into your life. First you must determine where the Helpful People and Travel area is located in your home. Each room has it’s own Helpful People and Travel area as well, so if you need to limit this to one room, that will be fine too. Just treat the door to the room as the front entrance. Here’s a diagram:
First clear the area of clutter, and clean it. Once that is complete, you can further clear the energy by burning sage, or using an essential oil such as lavender to purify the space.
Now, set up three silver containers for three different tasks of attracting helpful people:
- One small silver box with a lid (real silver, silver-plated, or even a paper box painted silver).
- One silver envelope large enough to hold documents (can be painted, covered with a silver wrapping paper, or even made of aluminum foil).
- One larger container, like a large vase, paper grocery bag, purse, or box (spray-paint it silver if you like, or cover it with silver fabric, sequins, beads, etc…)
The small silver box is used for events that need help now (3 days to 3 weeks). Those little jewelry boxes with red velvet inside work great, as the red is an activating color. This box can hold up to three requests at any one time.
The silver envelope is used for things that last months (scripts, contracts, invitations). Remove the item when you’ve been adequately helped.
The large container is for things that stay around for a LONG time (your doctor, your business clients, your family). You can place the name of everyone you meet in this container if you wish. Because this container is for the long term, I would recommend that you invest time and/or money to make it beautiful.
Instructions:
On paper, write the names of people or projects you need help with, phrased in a positive way. For example:
- The insurance adjuster is helpful to me.
- I always have help when I need it.
- Thanks to my helpful doctor, I am now completely healthy and pain free.
- I have plenty of good help with my remodeling project.
- My neighbors are helpful and kind.

Prosperity Magick can be as simple as making soup. The key is to make the soup as if it was a magickal recipe. Imagine that everything you are doing is a metaphor for creating the life you would like to have.
For example:
Dicing the onion might make your eyes water, just as sometimes in life there are tears. The root vegetables speak of getting to the “root” of the matter, pulling out all the stops, getting back to basics, going deep… etc. The apple is the partaking of knowledge, or the harvest. Think about each ingredient and what it represents to you, and how it might bring you the prosperity you want to create.
The Ingredients:
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 large Yellow Beets, peeled and cubed
- 1 small-medium carrot, chopped
- 1 small potato, peeled and cubed
- 1 bay leaf (opt)
- 3 cups vegetable broth
- 1 large tart apple, cubed
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 1/2 tsp salt and pepper to taste
For Garnish:
- Toasted bread crumbs or crushed croutons
Preparing the Soup:
As you cook the soup, consider how it may take some time for things to really come together for you in a good way. Create a chant, or use the one below, while you stir the soup, and imagine that you are stirring up all sorts of new deliciousness for your life.
Directions:
Heat the oil in a medium to large pot over medium-high heat. Add the onion and garlic and saute briefly until fragrant.
Add the beets, carrot, potato, bay leaf, and 1 cup of the broth. Turn down to a simmer at medium heat and allow to cook for about ten to fifteen minutes, or until the beets are tender.
Add the apple and 1 more cup of broth. Continue to cook for a few minutes until the apple is tender, about five more minutes. Remove the bay leaf (if using) and add the lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
Puree in with an immersion blender or in batches if using a tabletop blender.
Pour through a fine mesh strainer as you return the soup to the pot. Reserve the strained beets for a dumpling filler or yummy sandwich spread for later. Reheat the soup for about two minutes and serve.
While Stirring The Soup:
All things good, delicious and fine
Come together for me and are mine
I share with all who have a need
Because I know I will succeed.
Blessings to the earth.
Blessings to the sky.
Blessings on the soup and me and mine.
Serving the Soup:
When spooned into each bowl add some warmed milk or cream and swirl lightly with a spoon or chop stick to get a pretty spiral design. Top with croutons.
Take in each spoonful with gratitude. Savor the moment.
Recipe created by Gwendolyn Mathers
This dish accents creative communications, especially with those ever-annoying know-it-alls, wiseacres, gossips, conversation hogs, and those who are quick to jump into discussions just to hear themselves talk! The yellow parsnips, carrots, and pepper reflect the air element, which empowers our words.
Ingredients:
- 2 medium carrots
- 2 medium parsnips
- 1 yellow pepper (large)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups sliced cabbage
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 3/4 cup soy sauce
- 4 (4-5 oz) fish fillets
- Olive oil
- 3/4 lbs sweet potato, peeled and cooked tender
Cut carrots, parsnips, and yellow pepper into thin strips. As you do, focus on “cutting through” anything that stands between you and speaking your mind.
In a large frying pan (indoors or on the side burner of your grill), place the butter, carrots, pepper, and parsnips to fry. As you notice the carrots and parsnips getting tender, add the cabbage into the fray, along with the vinegar and soy sauce.
Coat the vegetables evenly (you want the magick to flow evenly into all the components) while saying:
Parsnips, help me speak my mind
With carrots and cabbage, my magick binds
Potatoes put me on firm ground
Creative communications shall abound!
When the vegetables are close to being fully cooked, place the fish into a no-stick frying pan with just a touch of olive oil and cook over a low heat.
Using a knife, or toothpick if the fish is delicate, carve a symbol into the fillet that represents your goal. Brown the fish about 5 minutes on each side, adjusting for thickness.
Serve the fish on the bed of sweet potatoes, which will create a firm foundation for your spell. Since fish are symbolically associated with abundance, this dish makes sure you’re never at a loss for words!
NOTE: Enjoy a piece of mint candy or gargle with mouthwash before working this spell. Since you want to manifest the best possible communications, this emphasizes the goal from the inside out. Additionally, min supports effective interactions.
This is a ritual, or Queenship rite was created specifically for the Festival of Juno (Jun 1 – 2), but can be enjoyed at any time during the month of June.
- Colors: Purple and gold
- Element: Air
- Altar: Upon cloth of purple and gold set two purple candles in gold holders, a woman’s crown, peacock feathers, and eight golden stars.
- Offerings: Take on a leadership position, if you are female. Follow a woman’s lead, if male.
- Daily Meal: Whatever the women in the House want, if they can agree.
Juno Regina Invocation
Great Queen of Heaven,
Ruler of all the Gods,
Lady clothed in light,
You name, Juno, once meant
The indwelling spirit of inspiration
That lives in every woman.
And in every woman is the inner Queen
That you embody and enspirit,
The feminine hand of authority
That is Mother, and yet not mother,
That is Virgin, and yet not virgin,
That is both power and compassion,
Both beauty and strength.
Queen of heaven, we celebrate your Queenship
As it gives us our inspiration;
Have mercy on us as we go through our days,
And judge us lightly in the end.
Chant:
Juno Regina Domina
One who has been chosen to do the work of the ritual takes the crown in their hands and walks around the circle. If any woman feels moved to take on a leadership position, she can on this day step forward and kneel. The crown is placed on her head, and this is a symbol that she is asking to take on more responsibility. This offer cannot be refused, although the House Mama or Papa has discretion as to her future duties.
