Morning Coffee Magick

Did you know that coffee has magickal properties? According to my sources, it does! How fun is that? I say, let’s start the day with some magick, along with a really yummy cup of spiced coffee!

Magickal Properties of Coffee

  • Provides peace of mind and grounding.
  • Helps to dispel nightmares, negative thoughts, and overcome blockages and unhealthy emotions. It’s great for protection and getting rid of all kinds of nasties.
  • Coffee is a stimulant and can be used to give spells, potions and charms an extra kick, or speed things up.
  • Coffee grounds can be used in divination and read like tea leaves.
  • It is considered excellent for curse breaking.
  • It can be used as an offering to deities, entities, and ancestors.
  • Some sources suggest it can be used for compulsion, and encouraging others to be more persuasive towards you. This is most effective when the coffee is served to the target.

Here’s a recipe for a cup of magickal morning brew.

Magickal Morning Coffee:

Ingredients:

  • 3 pinches ground ginger
  • 3 pinches cinnamon
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • your favorite ground coffee

Directions:

  1. Add cinnamon to the ground coffee and say: “Cinnamon is for vision, money and love.”
  2. Add the ginger and say: “Ginger is for strength when push comes to shove.”
  3. Add the nutmeg and say: “Nutmeg is for vision, good fortune, and wealth.”
  4. Kiss your fingers and hold them over the coffee and spices, visualizing your love flowing into the coffee, and say: “A kiss keeps you happy and glowing with health.”
  5. Move your hand in a clockwise direction over the coffee spice mixture three times to blend the energies together, then proceed to brew the coffee in your usual manner.

Note: If you add sugar or cream to your coffee, know that sugar sweetens the experience, and cream smooths the way.

Medicinal Properties of Coffee

But wait, there’s more! Coffee has medicinal properties as well.

  • Caffeine (in coffee) improves short-term alertness, attention, memory and may have long term protective benefits on cognitive decline as well.
  • Many studies confirm that aspirin and other analgesics work faster and better on headaches, when combined with caffeine.
  • Coffee consumption has been associated with long term weight loss, likely from the thermogenic effects of caffeine raising the metabolic rate.

On a side note: Nursing mothers who drink coffee might transfer the caffeine to their babies, giving them insomnia, in which case this may not be the best way to start the day.

Color Matters

Also, it does seem to matter what cup you put that coffee in. Research shows that hot beverages served in an orange cup or mug taste better than drinks served in say, for example, a white one. So… if you have an orange cup, drink your coffee in that. But if you don’t, that’s OK too. Just be on the look out at garage sales and thrift shops for cups and mugs that are orange. They don’t have to be orange on the inside, it’s the outside color that seems to matter. And if you find something really beautiful… well… that’s even better!

Some Color Therapy

The color turquoise stimulates the higher Heart Chakra, increases intuition and sensitivity, enhances the ability to focus and concentrate, assisting with clear thinking and decision-making, and the development of good organizational skills.

Maybe it would be helpful to add this color to your work space, or any other area of your life where you want to be able to focus clearly and intuitively. With that in mind, here is a nice little collection of images featuring the color turquoise:

Something Nice

interior-modern-lighting

I have been trying to think of what I could post that would be helpful and maybe a little bit different, and it occurred to me that it might be nice to have a violet light, or a real violet flame on when meditating, especially if you meditate in the evening, or in the early hours of the morning. It would be kind of like bathing in actual violet light.

So I went on a search for cool stuff that would fill a room with violet light.

The first thing I thought of was violet or purple colored light bulbs. There is a wide variety to choose from, and they aren’t very expensive. I saw some really cute night lights, twinkling purple Christmas lights, and ordinary purple light bulbs. Very simple and easy to do.

611tldwdcil-_sx522_Then I remembered that I have something that’s pretty cool. It’s a set of LED candles that have a color changing remote control. Before the project, I usually went for the red and the peach colors, but the violet is perfect for this project. I got mine at Dollar General, but they are available at amazon. Here’s a link to the brand in the picture: Honeyall Flameless. My set only has 3 candles. I think what I like most is the remote control.

There are real candles that burn with purple flames, but I didn’t find any for sale on Amazon. I did, however, find a website that sells Tea Light Candles that look like they burn with a nice violet light.  Here’s a link to the page:

Other ideas I had to create violet colored light are as follows:

  • Use purple paper sacks to make violet luminaries. More of an outside idea…
  • Spray paint a lamp shade purple. Of course you’d have to be careful that the paint can handle any heat from the light bulb.
  • Cover a window with violet or purple cellophane wrapping paper. Obviously, this would would be something temporary… Be fun to make violet shades for your windows that are made from cellophane, but that is probably an easier said than done sort of project.
  • Paint a mason jar with with glass-frosting spray paint. Drop in an LED tea light, screw the lid on and voila! These are actually pretty cool. Here’s a picture:

Interestingly, according to the principles of Feng Shui, purple is the optimum color for the prosperity area of your home.

Feng Shui – Project Overview

This post provides links to pertinent aspects of the Feng Shui project, so that you won’t have to sift through the archives to find out what you want to know.

This project was combined with a project on Clearing Our Clutter. The two projects were intended to work in tandem with one another, for this reason, I included the decluttering links as well. If you are only interested in the Feng Shui information, you can click on the Feng Shui category link in the sidebar. The Clearing Our Clutter posts have a project overview of their own, here: Clearing Our Clutter – Project Overview.

If you would like to try this project for yourself, you can start on Day One: Make a Feng Shui Journal, and come back daily to continue on thru to the last one: Your Car is Your Friend. Or, you can pick through the posts, finding what seems interesting and useful. The important thing is to commit to a daily practice.

As you work with the Feng Shui project, we encourage you to post your thoughts, ideas, results, joys and disappointments as you go. This is an active blog, and if you post, we will notice and reply, and give you the benefit of our own experience and support if it seems pertinent or appropriate.

Water feeds wood, and black symbolizes water, so anything black will help things start to flow with family, children, and basic money needs.

Water is the element for this area, and black is the feng shui symbol for water. Put your black briefcase here, or that Men in Black poster.

White symbolizes the metal that creates water. Anything white will attract good vibes for your life path. Books have black-and-white pages, so find a book about your career path and place it here.

Color and Containers for Helpful People

Feng Shui activity for today:

Add a color and three containers to your Helpful People and Travel area. Silver, gray and metal work here, so aluminum foil is fine.

You can set up three silver containers for three different tasks of attracting helpful people:

  1. One small silver box with a lid (real silver, silver-plated, or even a paper box painted silver)
  2. One silver envelope large enough to hold documents (can even be made of aluminum foil)
  3. One larger container, like a large vase, paper grocery bag, purse, or box (spray-paint it silver if you like, or cover it with silver fabric, sequins, or beads.)

The small silver box is used for events that need help now (3 days to 3 weeks). Those little jewelry boxes with red velvet inside work great, as the red is an activating color. This box can hold up to three requests at any one time.

The silver envelope is used for things that last months (scripts, contracts, invitations). Remove the item when you’ve been adequately helped.

The large container is for things that stay around for a LONG time (your doctor, your business clients, your family). You can place the name of everyone you meet in this container if you wish. Because this container is for the long term, I would recommend that you invest time and/or money to make it beautiful.

Instructions:

On paper, write the names of people or projects you need help with, for example:

  • “The insurance adjuster is helpful to me”
  • “I attract only the perfect health care practitioners for me.”
  • “I have plenty of good help with my remodeling project.”
