Visualization

Do this every morning for 17 seconds

“Get out into the sunlight — out where everything is — with a vibration that is so dominant that those who annoy you; those who don’t agree with you; those who make your life feel uncomfortable don’t come into your experience, because your vibration — through your practice — has become so clear, so pure, so clean, so in keeping with what you want, that the world that revolves around you just feels like that. That’s what you planned.” —Abraham

“When you acknowledge what you do not want, and then ask yourself, “What is it that I do want?” you begin a gradual shift into the telling of your new story and into a much-improved point of attraction. You get the essence of what you think about – whether you want it or not – because Law of Attraction is unerringly consistent – therefore, you are never only telling the story of “how it is now.” You are also telling the future experience that you are creating right now.” —Abraham

How About A Little Hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis, also referred to as hypnotherapy or hypnotic suggestion, is a trance-like state in which you have heightened focus and concentration. Hypnosis is usually done with the help of a therapist using verbal repetition and mental images. When you’re under hypnosis, you usually feel calm and relaxed, and are more open to suggestions.

Hypnosis can be used to help you gain control over undesired behaviors or to help you cope better with anxiety or pain. It’s important to know that although you’re more open to suggestion during hypnosis, you don’t lose control over your behavior.

Although hypnosis has been controversial, most clinicians now agree it can be a powerful, effective therapeutic technique for a wide range of conditions, including pain, anxiety and mood disorders. Hypnosis can also help people change their habits, such as quitting smoking.

Because the word “hypnosis” makes some people nervous, the more popular term these days is “Guided Meditation.” I found a couple of videos on YouTube that I thought might be pertinent to this project. Here they are:

There are plenty of other videos on YouTube, go exploring and see if you can find something that works for you.

Thinking vs Focusing

While it does seem to be true that what you focus on grows, I have noticed that what you think about doesn’t necessarily happen. What’s the difference between focusing on something and thinking about something? If it’s on my mind, it might or might not come to be. If it’s not on my mind, it might or might not come to be.

For example:

It never occurred to me that my lawnmower would break down and even if it had occurred to me as a remote possibility, I never once thought that nobody would be able to figure out what was wrong with it and just fix it.  And yet, here it is. My new reality, something I never once focused on.

I have a constant recurring fantasy that I win big in the lottery, and proceed to buy a huge family compound at the end of a dead end road, way out in the country, further south where winters are warmer, off the grid, self sufficient, with a nice big lake, separate houses for each of us, we are all debt free, and get to do whatever makes us happy. I think about this a lot. It hasn’t happened yet.

Suddenly I have an infestation of ants. Really? Ants? I keep killing them and killing them and killing them. Did I focus on ants and now the population has grown by leaps and bounds? No. Do I sit around and obsess about ants taking over my home? No. I just go buy more poison. Do I visualize them gone? Yes. It always surprises me when they show up again someplace else.

What’s up with that?

Despite the above situations, I do find that what I focus on grows. And I think this must be because when I focus on something, I focus more than just my thoughts. It occupies not just my mind, but also my time, my energy, and also any resources I have at my disposal.

I could think about my website all day long, but if I didn’t sit down at the computer and do some actual work on it, if I didn’t research and write posts, if I didn’t pay for web hosting, and spend hour upon hour trying to improve it, I don’t think it would be growing at all. It would just be a pipe dream.

It also occurs to me that if I put my money with my mouth is, did some research, put in a fair amount of elbow grease, consulted some professionals, and did a bunch of leg work, my ant problem would be resolved. And here’s the thing – I just don’t care about it that much.

And yes, winning the lottery would be really awesome and fun, but I have yet to buy even one lottery ticket. Not even one!

So, maybe what you focus on grows if you put your money where your mouth is, and put the pedal to the metal. Energy flows to where attention goes, but only if you’re willing and able to harness that energy and put it to work.

Positive thinking, creative visualization… these things are great. And they do seem to work really well some times. And I’m thinking that those times when they are effective tools are also the times when we actually use them to get ourselves moving and doing.

A True Story:

All day yesterday, I thought about this next post on the project. I thought and I thought, but when I got home, and it was time to sit down and actually do it… well… I didn’t. And again today, all day at work, I was thinking about it… focusing on it…  it didn’t suddenly appear just because I had it in my mind. I had to actually sit down at the computer and do the work.

So, these are my thoughts and experiences. What do you think? Have any thoughts, insights, experiences, or ideas to share?

What Do You See?

Look around the room… What do you see?

When you walk into a room, and everything is clean and neatly ordered, the colors match, the pictures on the wall are straight, and nothing is out of place, it just feels nice. You might even look around and appreciate it. But take that exact same room, and hang a picture crookedly, or let a small pile of clutter accumulate, and what’s the first thing you see? I bet it’s not the 90% clean and cozy all around… I bet it’s the one or two little things that aren’t quite right….

If you’re like me, all you can see when you look around your home is the stuff that needs to be done, the stuff that isn’t quite right, all the things you’d like to change, move, upgrade, or throw away. In my experience, I don’t easily see what is right, what is beautiful, what is orderly, or what is wonderful in my home, because I’m so busy judging myself for all the other.

Yesterday, I tried this little exercise where I looked around the room and tried to mainly focus on everything that I liked about it, the things I love. And it was really really hard! So much easier to see all the other stuff. Maybe that’s because there is a lot of it. And maybe that’s because it really bothers me on some unconscious level. I don’t know. What I DO know is that I do the same thing when I look at myself in the mirror.

It occurs to me that this must be a survival mechanism, to notice that which is disruptive, uncomfortable, or ugly. This is really helpful, if you are noticing and then right away taking steps to remedy the situation. But it isn’t at all helpful when you are overwhelmed by the sheer volume of stuff that needs your attention and help. Nor is it helpful when there isn’t anything you can do to make things better.

So, if it’s true that “what you focus on grows,” and if all I focus on in my home is what’s wrong with it, does it follow that more clutter, disarray, and chaos will follow? And if all I see when I look in the mirror are faults and flaws, does it mean that this is what I will continue to portray?

I wonder what would happen, and how different my experience would be if I focus only on what I love about my home, and ignore the rest, and how would I feel about myself if I took the time to look in the mirror every day and find something beautiful to see?

A Mental Rental

I found this idea in an article about Techniques For Recovering Your Happiness When Life Knocks You Sideways. I think it’s worth a try. It’s tip #5, called “Get a mental rental”

Here’s how it works:

Sit in a quiet place and consciously think about optimistic future goals or happy memories. Make a list of five great moments from your past and five future events you’re psyched about. Envision as much detail as you can. Try to engage all of the senses. What are you wearing? How are you standing? What scent is in the air? By tapping into positive thoughts, you can actually change your body chemistry.

Notes:

I love this idea, and I think I’m going to try using it at night when I can’t sleep because I’m either hating the idea that I have to go to work in the morning, or worrying over stuff that I don’t know how to deal with yet. I’ll let you know how it works for me. And if anyone else has success (or failure) with this technique, I’d love to hear about it!

Emotional Wealth

“Emotional Wealth is the Energetic Frequency behind all material abundance. The frequency of Emotional Wealth is expanded through gratitude, faith and immaculate visioning which then gives birth to Material Abundance. Cause Creates Effect”!

I did not transcribe this video, so we’ll have to watch it if we want to hear what he has to say about emotional wealth and how it relates to abundance and prosperity. He speaks a little bit about femifestation which is an interesting concept and variation on the word manifestation.

Imagine That!

pathway-to-destiny

Today lets imagine what our lives would be like, how different we would be, how different our situations and circumstances would be if that most uncomfortable “I am …” statement was, in fact NOT TRUE.

Take a few minutes to just sit with it… and if you can’t visualize it, if you can’t “feel” the difference, try substituting a better or different word for the one that triggers those negative feelings. The substitution should be something that directly addresses the original statement.

Here are some examples:

  • Change “I am ugly” into “I am unusual and interesting” or “I am beautiful.”
  • “I am incompetent” could become “I am a DIY guru” or “I am an expert.”
  • “I am fat” could be changed into “I am strong and fit” or “I love my curvy new body.”

Think about how you would act, how you would walk. Who would you talk to? What would you do? Would you wear different clothes? Look for a different job? Would you hold your head high? Would you smile a lot?  Imagine all the ways your life would be changed.

Keep working with the phrase until you come up with something that puts a smile on your face, and feels really good to think or say.  You’re looking for an image or a phrase that would feel like freedom and happiness IF you could say it about yourself and KNOW it to be true.

Don’t worry too much if you don’t believe it could ever be true. All we’re trying to accomplish here is to have a look at how it would feel if that negative “I am…” statement from yesterday did not apply to you at all. Focus in on that feel good feeling, and enjoy it.

A Nice Violet Flame Meditation

From the Daily Om, here is a very simple and very nice Violet Flame Meditation:

vpXJnq

Adding a violet flame meditation once in a while to your daily practice is a lovely way to feel a fresh sense of peace. The violet flame is a powerful tool anyone can use in meditation. It helps release negative karma, raise your consciousness awareness, the frequency of your vibration, and accelerate your spiritual growth.

Energy can’t be erased but it can be changed, transmuting negative into positive, darkness into light. This allows you to make the choices you feel negatively about become positive, while also changing your emotional experience. Physically, the violet flame releases emotions and energy pent up within that make you vulnerable to illness and disease.

The violet flame in meditation uses a combination of affirming thoughts and visualization.

Once centered, begin by surrounding yourself with white-and-blue protective energy. You may even want to call on archangel Michael for his protection while you go into this powerful spiritual state. Then repeat thoughts such as “I am cleansed and purified by the violet flame.”

Picture a huge bonfire before you, its immensity making you feel small beside it, and marvel as the colors flicker between purple, violet, and bright pink. Sense its warmth while noticing that it will not burn you. Step into the flame, letting it surround you entirely while also filling the spaces in your body, your thoughts, even the cells and molecules within you.

Once there, focus on the positive things you’d like to create in your life or your hopes for others. Visualize the violet flame in the midst of the scenes as they unfold in your mind. You may want to ask that the power of the flame be multiplied to assist those in need.

When you have finished your meditation, be sure to close with gratitude. The violet flame is a powerful tool that should be used consciously and with intent. Forgetting to close with thanks keeps you connected and may lead to the unintentional misuse of this energy. It is always a good idea when finished with any spiritual practice to give thanks as this creates closure.

Saints and adepts throughout the ages have known how to use the violet flame, but it is available for all to use to raise our awareness and, eventually, that of all mankind.

The Violet Consuming Flame

d4775ba4d5326809d1cd91aadf3ff764

Visualize the Violet Consuming Flame passing through the physical body. Stand there a few moments, feeling as deeply as you can Its Rushing Presence through the flesh and around you, for a radius of three feet in every direction.

See all excess substance, appearances, and records of age, strain, distress, and limitations; impurity, discord, or struggle disappear, just like smoke or a shadow! See that substance pass off, and you stand forth blazing and Self-luminous like your Higher Mental Body, dazzling in Its Sparkling Qualities.

Visualize the Violet Consuming Flame in and around individuals and conditions; and whenever you think of the Earth, visualize It a Violet Sun in space, and the humanity of Earth as Ascended Beings who are already Ascended and Free.

Hold the picture of everyone walking in the Violet Consuming Flame, just as if you walked in water which was Violet Flame instead of water, up to just below the Heart. As you hold the picture of everyone moving in the Violet Consuming Flame, you will find It shutting off most of your disturbed feelings and discordant activities of others, who perhaps are doing something wrong.

This will keep you from absorbing the mistakes and the pictures of imperfection which come through criticism, condemnation, and blame, and the discussing of the faults of others. People have no concept of what they photograph into their own bodies and into their worlds by discussing the mistakes and failures of others.

Try to govern that; and demand the picture of that which you want, and see the Violet Flame covering over what you do not want.
