Lovingly moving your stuff in this area can enhance your life by helping you to:

This area is not just about love relationships, but about improving ALL the relationships in your life, including your boss, coworkers, extended family members, etc.

Let Your Light Shine
Fire is the element for your Fame and Reputation area, so fireplaces, lanterns and candles are perfect for this area, whether they are lit or not. A lava lamp is great too.
Triangles and pointed objects are symbolic of fire and work well here. Pyramids and cactus are good here. This is the place for your collection of weapons: spears, harpoons, arrows, daggers, swords and knives have the sharp shape of fire.
Wood feeds fire, so wooden furniture or wooden picture frames go here.
Place the Christmas tree here!
The television can go here.
Rectangular and columnar objects work here, such as a grandfather clock, an armoire, and pictures on the wall in a vertical format. (These represent a tree trunk.)
Items that represent fire, such as gold stars, the Statue of Liberty’s torch, a picture of a campfire, firefly, or volcano are good to use here. A ceramic sun, a book of matches, a hibachi, incense, or a string of red chili peppers can be effective also.
Live animals have fire energy. The cat’s scratching pole can go here. Leather and wool work here. Plants are great here too – as the plant grows, so does your reputation.
Hang pictures of people you admire. If they have a reputation you want, put their stuff here.
Awards, diplomas, professional licenses, trophies, gold stars on good papers, report cards, Oscars, certificates of appreciation all go here. They will toot your horn so you don’t have to.
Things associated with height will get people to look up to you, so mountains and volcanoes, birds, balloons, stars, moon, sun and other such things work well here.

3 Minutes To Fame and Fortune
We are working to clear out the items in our Fame section that have a connotation of something that doesn’t represent who you want to be.
Take a minute to really look at your Fame area and pinpoint the items that don’t belong here, the things that don’t represent the person you are working to become.
Set your timer for 3 minutes. Move as quickly as possible and throw away the items that belong in the trash, and put the other items in a box to be redistributed to the appropriate rooms when you have time. After 3 minutes, stop! You are done for today. Let’s move on to the fun stuff!

Big Money Symbols
If you want big money for the good things in life, the Prosperity area is where to get it. If you need money to get out of the hole or just to pay monthly bills, the Family area will help you to acquire basic maintenance money so you can focus on the good stuff. We will get to the Family area later this month.
Feng Shui activity for today:
Add a symbol that reminds you of wealth and abundance.
This area of the home is also for blessings, so it’s a good area where you can acknowledge what you have been blessed with already.
Put a photo of your dream house, dream car, dream vacation in this area. You can cut out a picture from a magazine – but remember, the universe takes you literally, so be careful when you place your “order.”
Get the cash flowing with moving water – guppies in a glass, or a waterfall. Just make sure the water is clean and isn’t the toilet. You can even hang a picture of a waterfall.
- Add a round-leaved plant such as a jade plant or an African violet. Keep the plants friendly (no cactus) and healthy (no plant hospitals!)
- Use a moving object to get the chi moving around you.
- Place a full piggy bank or the Boardwalk and Park Place Monopoly game pieces in this area.
- Fan nine dollar bills out and place them behind furniture to get the money flowing.

Purple For Prosperity
Feng Shui activity for today – add a color!
Purple is the best for the Prosperity corner. Put a big chunk of purple amethyst there. Dig out that purple lava lamp and watch money start to ooze up and bubble over into your life. If this area of your home happens to be in your child’s room, make sure Barney the purple dinosaur is in the Prosperity corner.
- Red is a powerful color that can add excitement and energy to almost anything. Keep a red power tie here. Anything red that you like will work.
- Green is good for your prosperity corner too. Use green to get out of the red.
- Gold stuff enhances the wealth area. Give your corner the Midas touch.
Use these colors by dying the curtains, changing the bedding, painting the walls, lining the drawers! Use purple dust rags to clean the house to remind yourself that you are keeping things clean for abundance. If your closet is in this corner, fill your closet with purple clothes. If your office is here, use purple files in your drawers.
Feng shui adjustments work even when no one else can see them. You can put purple construction paper behind a photo in a picture frame – no one will see it, but you will know it’s there and that it’s working for you. Tape purple paper underneath your desk or under furniture. Use purple paint on the concrete floor before carpeting is laid. These cures will work even though they are hidden away.

Create A Bagua for Your Home
Feng Shui activity for today:
- Making the bagua work for your home
Draw out the floor plan of your home. Draw the floor plan for each floor separately. If you have three floors to your home, you will have three sheets of paper.
Now take this bagua:
and draw in the corresponding areas over your floor plan. Each area of the bagua should be the same size. If an area overlaps two or more rooms of your home, that’s fine.
The main door of the home (the architect determined this – this is not necessarily the door you use most often!) will always be on the side of the bagua with the Skills/Knowledge, Career, and Helpful People/Travel areas. Your main door will enter into any of these three areas. The only exception is if, as soon as you enter your home, you have to go up a flight of stairs to get to the actual living area, and you happen to be facing the opposite direction when you reach the top of the stairs, then you can use the top of the stairs as the “main entrance” to your home and place the bagua accordingly over your floor plan.

Refer back to the journaling you did yesterday. You can make notes in each area of the things you want to pay special attention to this month.

What is a Bagua?
Everything that happens in life can be boiled down into one of 9 life situations or categories, and each category is represented in your living quarters by a particular area. Each area is called a gua, and the sum of these areas put in a particular order is called the bagua. Ba means eight, and the bagua has eight sides. The eight sides, plus the middle area, make up the nine zones that relate to different life situations.
Here is a picture of the bagua we will be using:
It is a little less intimidating when viewed as a grid:
Often baguas are drawn as an octagon with various symbols like this one:

Each of these is correct.
We are going to keep it simple and use the two examples at the top of this page.
