Honey

Pour red wine into a pot or cauldron and add anise, cloves, rosemary, ground cumin, honey, and orange zest. Add two candied rose geranium leaves. (Substitute candied violets, angelica, or ginger if the geranium isn’t available.)

Stir the pot, let the wine come to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer gently while you focus on your desires. When it starts steaming, turn off the heat and let the potion cool off.

Strain the solids out using a fine sieve. Warm up the wine once more. When the aroma is arousing, pour it into glasses and serve it to the one you love.

This bath is used to sweeten your energy and magnetize your aura to your desires. You will need:

  • Fresh flower petals
  • A splash of rose water
  • A teaspoon of cinnamon
  • A teaspoon of honey
  • Your favorite perfume or oil
  • Palo Santo or Sage

Burn some Palo Santo, or Sage to make the space sacred. Light candles, put on music, create an ambiance. Fill the tub and add the honey, rose water, cinnamon, perfume or oil, and lastly the flower petals. Hold your hands above the water and state your intention. Speak from your heart. Soak in this mixture for 25 minutes or longer. Absorb all of it’s beautiful energy. Relax and visualize your desires. See yourself with them now. Do not rinse off after. Air dry if possible.

Note:

While this bath is great for when there is a New or Full Moon in Taurus, it is also appropriate when the Sun is in Taurus, or if your birth sign is Taurus, or you have a special affinity for Taurus.

This is an old old magickal formula – and posted here for educational and informational purposes only. Mistletoe berries are poisonous. This is the reason there will be dreams – some of them bad – some of them possibly fatal – so do not make or ingest this mixture!

Steep mistletoe berries, to the number of nine, in a mixture of ale, wine, vinegar and honey; take them on going to bed, and you will dream of your future lot. A storm in this dream is very bad; it is most likely you will then marry a sailor, who will suffer shipwreck at sea; but to see either sun, moon or stars is an excellent presage; so are flowers; but a coffin is an index of a disappointment in love.

This is a potion that totally calms you when you drink it, and puts you in a peaceful and relaxing mood. Best used when fired up over a frustrating situation.

Items you will need:

  • Milk
  • Brown sugar
  • Honey (or banana)
  • White sugar
  • A pot …
  • A stove
  • A wooden spoon
  • A cup for afterwards

Note: Use whatever milk you like – skim, 1%, 2%, whole, lactose free… Any of those!

Instructions:

Set the pot on the stove and fill it with 1 1/2 cups of milk. (you can use more or less, you’d just have to equal out the ingredients) Turn the stove on LOW. Let the milk start to just slightly bubble a little bit. Then pour 1/3 of a cup of brown sugar into the pot and stir for about 15 seconds.

Now pour 1/4 cup of white sugar in and stir for another 15 seconds. Then pour in some honey (however much you want or think you need) or if you don’t have honey, you can substitute for 1/3 of a banana. (If you use the banana, make sure it’s mushed up and stirable, but still just a little chunky).

Let it sit for about a minute and then turn the stove off and let the potion cool, just as your situation will cool after drinking the potion. After it’s a little cooled off, but still warm, pour it into a cup and say this spell before drinking:

”Calm me down,
safe and sound
Bring me peace,
so my mind’s at ease
As I say
so Mote it Be.”

Before taking a sip, be sure to thank the God and the Goddess. With each swallow, imagine pure peace flowing through your body. (I always keep this stuff with me just in case I get angry and can’t meditate at the time.) Thanks much and Blessed Be!

  • Vervain leaves – 4 stalks worth
  • Honey 1/4 cup
  • Florida water or other perfume (a few dabs)
  • 1-1/2 cups of water

Blend all ingredients in a blender. Combine this in a gallon jug and fill with warm water.

Stand in shower and dump mixture all over, then just towel off. Its an invigorating herbal wash that is great after ritual or when you feel slightly off kilter.

Note: I like the combination, and I do think it would be very grounding – however, if you’re worried that it sounds like it would be sticky, I would recommend this variation:

Combine the Honey, the Vervain, and the Florida Water (or perfume of your choice) with cornmeal to the consistency of a scrub. Scrub your body and then rinse with lots of warm spring water.

Once upon a time, according to legend, the Goddess Hecate had a temple in the ancient city of Colchis, surrounded by vast botanical gardens. Her priestesses, including her most famous devotee Medea, were famed for their botanical knowledge. No doubt they could concoct a sleeping potion or two. This simple bath uses two of Hecate’s sacred materials – honey and lavender – to soothe the way to sleep and encourage healing dreams.

Gently warm some milk. The quantity is up to you: the more milk, the more luxurious and soothing the bath. When the milk is warm, carefully add honey, stirring so that it blends. (Otherwise the honey will just settle at the bottom.)

Remove from the heat; add several drops of essential oil of lavender, or several handfuls of freshly picked lavender flowers. Add to a tub filled with warm water.

To excite passion in another, this is one of the best love potions available:

To a gill of red wine in a saucepan, add a teaspoon of rosemary leaves, a teaspoon of anise seed, a teaspoon of cloves, a teaspoon of clear honey, and a teaspoon of orange rind. Also add a pinch of ground cumin and three green leaves of rose geranium.

Stir the mixture and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and allow the potion to simmer for two minutes. Then remove it from the heat and allow it to cool until it is not steaming before straining the botanicals out through a fine sieve. Finally return the potion to the heat until vapors begin to arise and it is ready to be served to your intended.

You will need:

  • One cup of milk
  • One quarter cup of honey
  • One teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Four drops essential oil of lavender
  • Four drops essential oil of chamomile

Warm the milk gently over a low heat and stir in the honey. When they are blended, remove from the heat and add the vanilla extract and essential oils. Disperse the mixture in warm running bath water. For a more luxurious bath experience, increase the quantities, just be sure to maintain the proportions.

Fill a small pot with a handful of rosemary leaves, thirteen anise seeds, two cloves, three rose geranium leaves, a tablespoon of honey, and some grapefruit juice.

Place the pot over a fire and bring the brew to a boil. Strain the mixture through a sieve. Add some of the liquid to a glass of wine or fruit juice, and then serve it to the man or woman from whom you desire love, or use it as an offering.
