Purify and Cleanse

Here is a recipe for an herbal uncrossing vinegar you can use all year long. In a decorative jar or bottle, place 3 garlic cloves, 3 peppercorns, sprigs of rosemary, sage, and thyme, and a pinch of sea salt. Cover with vinegar. Close the lid and seal it with melted wax. Hold it in your hands and charge it with the following:

“Vinegar strong and herbs of power,
I charge you now within this hour.
Uncross, uncross, with powers imbue,
I charge you now, uncrossing brew.”

Leave the vinegar to sit undisturbed for one month, then break the seal and use it for uncrossing spells. Pour some over your doorstep to protect you from negative vibes. Write down your troubles and cover the list in the vinegar. Mix a little with water for a floor wash. Get creative.

Collect rainwater, ideally within a stone vessel.

Prepare yourself prior to preparing the water; bathe in Fiery Wall of Protection, Dragon’s Blood, or lots and lots of salt, while reciting psalms and/or sacred verses.

Prepare the water sky-clad (nude) or in clean ritual clothing. Where ritual clothing is not used, fresh, clean clothing, preferably white and made from natural fabrics is favored.

Ladle the collected rainwater into a glass or crystal bowl. Place the bowl of water between two white candles. Light incense first (frankincense, copal, benzoin, and/or white sage) and then the candles.

Pass the bowl of water through the incense smoke. Visualize why you’re preparing this water. Visualize the results this water will bring.

Return the bowl to its place between the candles and leave everything in place until the candles burn out. Bottle the water.

You can use the power of the elements to create holy water.
Here’s how:

Take a large, clean, open-top container and put it outside on the ground when you know there is going to be a thunder storm. The water you collect will be “blessed” by the four elements.

  • Air, the wind
  • Fire, the lighting
  • Earth, there will always be a bit of dirt from the ground.
  • Water, the rain

Note: The water will also take on additional properties. For example, if the sun comes out after the storm, there will be a solar influence, if the moon reflects into it – a lunar aspect, and special blessings if the reflection of a rainbow is seen within it.

Here is the Roman Catholic way of making Holy Water.

Place a handful of sea salt on sterilized glass. Make the sign of the cross or raised palm of benediction over the salt and recite the exorcism of salt:

God’s creature, salt of the Earth, I cast out the echo of evil by the living God, by the one true God, by the holy God, through whom all things have their being. May you be a purified, living, heavenly salt, a means of health for those who believe, a medicine for body and soul for all who make use of you. May all evil fancies be driven far from the place where you are sprinkled. And let every unclean spirit be repulsed by the power of almighty God.

Recite the blessing of salt:

Almighty, everlasting God, I humbly appeal to your mercy and goodness to bless this creature, salt, that you have given for humankind’s use. May all who use it find in it a remedy for body and mind. And may everything that it touches be feed from uncleanness and any influence of evil through your holy name, Amen.

Make the sign of the cross or raised palm of benediction over sterilized glass bowl of fresh spring water and repeat the exorcism of salt, exchanging the word salt for water. Then recite the blessing of water:

O God, who for man’s welfare established the most wonderful mysteries in the substance of water, hearken to this prayer, and pour forth your blessing on this element. May this creature of yours, when used in your mysteries and endowed with your grace, serve to cast out demons and to banish disease. May everything that this water touches delivered from all that is unclean and hurtful; through your holy name. Amen.

Now pour the salt into the water in the form of a cross, saying:

May this heavenly salt and water unite in harmony,
in the name of the Almighty God, Amen.

The holy water is now ready to be placed in a flask or whatever container you have prepared for it to be stored in.

of all negativity both seen and unseen,
and bless thee in the name of the spirit.”

Imagine a small blue-white light filling the water. Take your time. Hold your hand amount of salt and say:

“I exorcise thee oh creature of salt
Of all negativity both seen and unseen
and bless thee in the name of the spirit.”

Envision the same blue-white light covering the salt. Add three pinches of salt to the water stir three times. hold the bowl/glass at eye level with both hands and say:

goat's milk homemade soap bath bar

  • 1 cup grated unscented soap
  • ¼ cup hot water
  • 1 Tbsp. Apricot oil
  • 1 Tbsp. Angelica
  • ½ Tbsp. crushed Bay
  • ½ Tbsp. crushed Basil
  • 6 drops Myrrh oil

Place grated soap in a heat-proof non-metallic container and add the hot water and apricot oil. Leave until it is cool enough to handle, and then mix together with your hands. If the soap is floating on the water, add more soap. Leave to sit for 10 minutes, mixing occasionally, until the soap is soft and mushy.

Once the soap, water, and oil are blended completely, add the dry ingredients. Once the mixture is cool, then add the essential oils (essential oils evaporate quickly in heat). Enough essential oils should be added to overcome the original scent of the soap.

Blend thoroughly and then divide the soap mixture into four to six pieces. Squeeze the soaps, removing as much excess water as possible into the shape you desire, and tie in a cheesecloth. Hang in a warm, dry place until the soap is completely hard and dry.
