  • 1 cup salt
  • 3 drops rose geranium oil
  • 4 drops synthetic ambergris oil
  • 2 drops pine oil
  • 8 drops magnolia oil

Lightly mix the ingredients together and place them in a jar for storage. Use during the Waning Moon

Helpful Tips:

Add the essential oils drop by drop, one ingredient at a time, until the scent seems right. Mix with a spoon (or shake) until all salt particles are moistened. Be prepared to spend some time doing this, perhaps a half hour or so. Here is where a plastic bag comes in handy!

If the Bath Salts are mixed for a ritual purpose, visualize the energies within the oils merging with each other and with the salt as you mix. Keep the salt’s goal in mind while you stir. Use or store until needed.

Take a glazed pan half full of grease or olive oil. Put in sweet mint leaves bruised. Place pan in hot water bath (or double boiler). Stir occasionally. After four or five hours pour into linen bag and squeeze grease through into pot again and fill with fresh leaves. Repeat until grease is strongly scented.

Do same with marjoram, thyme and pounded dried patchouli leaves, if you may have them (for they be best of all). When strongly scented, mix all the greases together and keep in a well-stoppered jar.

Anoint behind ears, throat, breasts and womb. In rites where Blessed be … may be said, anoint knees and feet, as also for rites connected with journeys or war.

Bat’s blood ink is one magickal ink that you should use carefully. This ink has been used to write spells of misfortune, havoc, and putting hexes. But being the good witch that you are, you can use bat’s blood ink to protect yourself from hexes. Plus you can use it to undo jinxes that have found their way into your life.

Be very careful with using bat’s blood ink for negative purposes since that can easily backfire. To make the ink you will need the following:

  • 2gr Dragon’s Blood resin
  • 1gr Myrrh resin
  • 1gr Gum Arabic
  • 12ml Alcohol
  • ½ cup water
  • Dark red coloring – optional, to make the ink darker and better for writing.

Ground the resins and the gum to a fine powder. Then, boil about half a cup of water. Lower the fire and pure the gum Arabic in the water. Stir until the gum is fully diluted. Then put in the rest of the resins and keep stirring until you have a honey-like paste.

Then take the mix out of fire, let it cool down to approximately 60oC (140oF) and add the alcohol. If you are using coloring, add it now. Stir until it becomes an homogeneous liquid. This is your Bat’s Blood Ink.

Depending on how finely you have ground the ingredients and how much water remains in the paste, you may need a little more or less alcohol to end up with a proper liquid. But whatever the case, the ink will work.

How to use Bat’s Blood Ink to remove problems and obstacles:

Light a fire in your cauldron and infuse it with purifying power. To do so, chant “Hum” or “Ksham” 108 times over the fire. Of course, always take all fire safety measures when using fire.

Add to your Bat’s Blood Ink a few drops of a Banishing or Uncrossing magical oil. Do not substitute with a Road Opener, Block Buster, or Success Oil. With this oil empowered ink, write on pieces of paper your problems and obstacles. Do not, under no circumstances, write people’s names. Only situations.

Then throw the papers into the purifying fire and let them burn to ashes. Even better, summon a fire Deity or a fire Spirit you trust to assist you in this procedure.

Fill a small bottle with equal parts of the following essential oils:

  • Sandalwood
  • Honeysuckle
  • Hibiscus

Add a few drops of Gardenia essential oil.

Consider all obstacles in your way being removed from your path as you blend this oil, and invoke Ganesh, the remover of obstacles to give his blessings to your blend so that it may be the best oil you use to open all roads to success.

Ganesh is perhaps one of the most beloved deities in the Hindu culture. He is perfect to petition when starting any type of new undertaking. Known to remove any type of obstacle, Ganesh offers insight, abundance, prosperity, new opportunities and overall success. Traditionally, Ganesh is depicted as an elephant headed man with a big belly and numerous arms. He loves sweet foods and is typically honored with hibiscus flowers.

You can use Ganesh Road Opener Oil in a variety of ways. It can be worn on the body, dabbed into the bath, anointed on important documents, dropped in the heel of your shoe, dabbed on charms and talismans, rubbed on the front door, burned in a diffuser or simply worn during prayer or meditation. You may also petition Ganesh by placing out sweets, fresh flowers and a bowl of water with a bit of this oil blend mixed in.

This oil blend should be a basic staple in your collection, and I strongly suggest you keep it on hand to be used whenever needed. Anytime you must clear your way through physical obstacles, this is the oil for the job. Add Road Opener to any magick or impossible task you wish to accomplish.

Add this oil to liquid body soap, and every time you wash your hands, you will be imbuing them with the power to open roads in all that they encounter. Writing letters, doing chores and being involved in all manner of communications – we use our hands one way or another.

Adapted from a recipe in the Enchanted Formulary

With doors and windows ajar, and people coming and going with the breeze, one’s attention might turn to natural protection magick in the summer. You can build your psychic armor with the protective energy of Goofer Dust by borrowing this traditional Hoodoo formula. Add it to your repertoire of home and hearth protection potions. Take time out of your busy day to make and use some of this fierce protective dust.

Goofer Dust is designed to protect your space from disruptive spirits (hants) and negative human energy. Here’s the recipe:

Mix equal parts sulfur (brimstone), sea salt, cayenne powder, and black pepper (powdered) and you’ll have homemade Goofer Dust. Make enough of the powder for the job at hand.

You’ll want to spread this in a protective ring around your property. If it is an apartment, loft or condo, make enough to spread out in front of your door. This dust protects the home, blowing forcefully toward bad energy spread by intruders with malicious intentions.
