Healing Old Wounds

Copy of ANCESTORS POSING FOR POSTERITY

This is magick used when there has been a rift in the family, be it between two individuals or between two whole groups within the family. It can be recognized as basic sympathetic magick.

Take a long white candle and break it into as many parts as there are factions. However, be careful not to break the wick – only the wax.

On each section of the candle carve the name of the individual or the initials of the major figures in the dispute (for example: should it be one whole branch of the family against another, with perphas as many persons in each group, then just mark the initials of the leaders, such as the father, mother, or grandmother, etc).

Lay the broken candle on a sheet of clean parchment (paper will do). Light a pink (best), red (second best) or white (third choice) candle and hold it over the broken candle so that the melting wax drops down onto the breaks, sealing them.

The broken candle should be slowly turned, keeping it on the parchment, so that all sides of the breaks become joined by the falling wax. As you do this, say: “Heal! Heal! Heal!” repeating it as necessary until the white candle is whole again.

When the engraved candle is once again whole, stand it upright in a holder and light it. It should then be left to burn down completely.

Old Lore About Teeth

toothworm

Gypsy lore surrounding teeth is as follows:

  • A child’s first tooth must, when it falls out, should be thrown into a hollow tree.
  • Those which come out in the seventh year are carefully kept, and whenever the child suffers from toothache, one is thrown into a stream.
  • The tooth of a wolf hung to the neck of an infant was believed to be an efficient amulet against disease;
  • A child’s tooth caught before it falls to the ground and set in a bracelet was considered to be beneficial to women.

Old Gypsy Cure For A Toothache

toothache-engraving-4260765 (1)

To cure toothache the Transylvanian gypsies wind a barley-straw round a stone, which is thrown into a running stream, while saying:

“Oh dukh ándre m’re dándá,
Tu ná báres cingerá!
Ná ává kiyá mánge,
Mire muy ná hin kere!
Tut ñikáná me kámáv,
Ac tu mánge pál pácá;
Káná e pçus yárpakri
Avel tele páñori!”

Translation:

“Oh, pain in my teeth,
Trouble me not so greatly!
Do not come to me,
My mouth is not thy house.
I love thee not all,
Stay thou away from me;
When this straw is in the brook
Go away into the water!”

Gypsy Fetish for Successful Sales

mojo bag 2Teeth which have been buried for many years, serve to make a singular fetish. They are mingled with the bones of a tree-frog, and the whole then sewed up in a little bag. If a man has anything for sale, and will draw or rub this bag over it, he will have many offers or customers for the articles thus enchanted.

The bones are prepared by putting the frog into a glass or earthen receptacle full of small holes. This is buried in an anthill. The ants enter the holes and eat away all the flesh, leaving the bones which after a few weeks are removed.

Zee Energy Meditation

d086c7b5b4a4695c88748aabee70f898

Find a place that has a comfortable feel for you, a spot that feels welcoming, preferably outdoors. It is good to lie on the grass, or lean against a tree or rock, but sit on something comfortable if that feels better. If it is more convenient to be indoors, try to fill your room with harmony and life. Have growing things about you. Burn pleasant incense or oil, maybe a candle or two if that pleases you. The main thing is to feel relaxed.

Don’t try to clear your mind of thoughts: to try to do so consciously often has the opposite effect of making one tense. Let your mind range where it will. If you feel like looking around, look around! Notice the flowers, the sound of the birds, the wind through the leaves, the distant noise of traffic and people. Gradually your thoughts will quieten.

As your mind becomes still, imagine your body becoming less solid, your skin – the barrier between you and the outside world – melting. Imagine the zee energy shimmering all around you, permeating the earth beneath, the air above you. Feel the zee tingling around your body like electricity.

Take slow, deep breaths, drawing the air down into your stomach. With each breath visualise the sparkling zee being drawn into your body through every pore, through the soles of the feet, palms of the hand, and crown of the head.

Continue in this way until the zee fills your whole body with vibrant glowing energy, and you feel yourself bursting with light. Now gradually close the barriers between you and the world again, to enclose the zee energy within your body. Feel your skin become solid again. Gradually the light drains from the extremities towards the torso. then concentrate the light into a glowing ball situated in the region of the solar plexus. Concentrate your mind for a few moments on the reassuring feel of this ball of light, your own power house of energy, then darken it with an imaginary cover that will keep it safe, deep inside yourself until it is needed.

Do this exercise whenever you can, ideally every day. Don’t worry if you can’t complete it every time; don’t worry if you fall asleep half way through; just sitting quietly for a while is of great benefit to the psyche, so the time is never wasted.

The First Step

The first step towards performing any magic, or fortune-telling, is to recognize and harness the Zee. This needs much less effort than you might expect, in fact it takes complete relaxation.

On a village green in Norfolk, there is a bench carved with the words,

Sometimes I sits and thinks,
sometimes I just sits.”

The Gypsy people spend much of their time doing hard physical work, but when given the chance they are very good at both the above-mentioned activities, or should I say inactivities.

You may wonder what this has to do with magic, but it is surprising what great ideas, what insight and inspirations spring from the subconscious when you sit for ten minutes without the distraction of radio or TV.

The Zee Energy

Michael Whelan - Paysage et nuages

It is an inspired truth, common among most pantheistic and so-called primitive religions of the world, that there is a great primeval intelligence, an energy that gives life and form to every particle of the universe. The archetype gods and goddesses are all part of this great intelligence, each having dominion over a different aspect of life.

Each star and planet is a sentient being, capable of manifesting in human form if necessary, as is each individual feature of the landscape. Each tree, each plant, even the stones on the ground are all given life and awareness through their roles in this great intelligence, as of course is animal life, from the most minute creature, to man himself.

Because all creation is part of this great god energy, everything is worthy of respect, and because all matter is connected through this energy we can tune into and use it through prayer and magic.

The life force, the first primeval god, has been rediscovered several times in recent years. It has been called by various names: prana, chi, viril, telluric energy, earth energy, the ether, among many others. Just as the blood in our bodies permeates every corpuscle of flesh but is concentrated in the veins, so the god energy is concentrated in ley lines, or the dragon paths of feng shui. These currents of energy are known to most cultures of the world by various names.

The Romany name for the life force energy is “mi douvals zee”. Which means the heart, or life, of God.

Recognizing the Power of the Universe

15895219_1297527413624092_3927305092547492952_n

In order to use the great power that permeates every atom of the universe and breathes life into the world around us, we must first learn to recognize it. Too often we take the workings of nature for granted and ignore, or are ignorant of the everyday miracles that enable life to continue on this small planet of ours.

Living and working as we do in the controlled atmosphere of houses, offices, factories or shops, travelling in the comfort of motor vehicles, we lose touch with the rhythm of the seasons and phases of the moon that are so important to us all for food and growth. Even people engaged in agriculture are in a constant battle against nature instead of working with her, especially since intensive livestock rearing and the growing of engineered vegetable crops are now the norm.

Because civilization has moved so far from the natural world, a conscious effort must be made to regain the sense of wonder that comes from observing the vitality in plants and animals, to feel the undercurrents in the air as subtle changes occur throughout the year.

Science has worked hard to uncover the secrets of the universe. Through modern techniques, what once was mysterious has become open, even commonplace. As a result the world has become rather two-dimensional, lacking the hidden depths that the human psyche needs to grow and flourish. For too many people life has lost its purpose; it has no meaning. they work hard, overeat, worry too much about their diet. They may take a holiday once or twice a year, and bring up children, but too often there is an empty space where their souls should be.

They try to fill the gap with frantic activity, sports, hobbies, buying ever more expensive consumer goods, but there is a lack of respect and consideration, first for the environment, and then for each other. This leads to an increasingly selfish, crime-ridden society, and an earth that is slowly dying.

Although scientists would like you to think that they know just about everything there is to know about the workings of nature, the so-called solutions proffered often leave many more questions unanswered. For instance, the theory that the universe started with a ‘big bang’ doesn’t explain where the original matter that exploded into the stars and planets came from in the first place. The mechanics of how a seed grows into a tree, or an egg into a bird can be explained but not how or where the spark of life that provides awareness comes from.

Don’t forget that even something as accepted as Darwin’s theory of evolution is still just a theory and may be disproved by further research. Scientists are constantly reassessing and discarding old truths as new data becomes available. Once you start to question the recognized dogma of our time you will have taken the first step to regaining awareness of the life force that is sometimes called the power of magic.

Out With The Old

besom-enchantedworksIf you think deeply about the start of any period of bad luck, you will find that there is some object that you acquired round about then or that you used or wore quite a lot. Maybe it is something that brings back recollections of an unhappy event. It can be an ornament, an item of clothing, a photograph, or even a kitchen utensil.

Place the said object near the back door of the house. Then, using a broom, and starting at the top of the house or in the room furthest from the back door, sweep each room in turn, working in a counter clockwise direction. As you work, visualize darkness being swept away in front of you. The darkness is black heavy clouds of bad luck. It can’t resist your broom. While you sweep, say,

“I banish the dark clouds from my home, bad luck be gone, there is no place here for you. Be gone, be gone, be gone!”

Any dust can be swept on to a shovel and taken with you as you go. Do each room in turn until you reach the back door, then put all the sweepings into a bag outside. Take the object previously mentioned and break or tear it, venting all your anger and frustration. Put the pieces into the bag with the dust. Sprinkle the contents with salt, saying,

“By this salt, cleansing gift of the earth, I render you powerless.”

Now bury the bag. If it is at all possible, bury it at a crossroads or by running water, but if this is not practical bury it in the garden or at the bottom of the rubbish bin. Before covering the bag with earth, or rubbish, sprinkle it with salt, making a pattern of a cross within a circle, saying,

“By this salt, by this sign you are gone from my life.”

Now reversing the order of the rooms, from the back door to the top of the house walk round each room clockwise with a lighted candle, preferably colored pink or gold, and a lighted incense stick perfumed amber or rose (or a scent that you really love). Alternatively if there is a particular perfume (or essential oil) that makes you feel happy, use that. As you walk, say,

“I bring light, joy, luck, and love into every corner of my home and life.”

Visualize each room being filled with bright golden light, every corner bursting with hope and joy. When you have done, return to the room most often used and leave the candle and incense to burn out naturally. Take time to enjoy the new feeling of happiness filling your home.
