The Cycle of Nature

“In the cycle of nature there is no such thing as victory or defeat: there is only movement. The winter struggles to reign supreme, but, in the end, is obliged to accept spring’s victory, which brings with it flowers and happiness. The summer would like to make its warm days last for ever, because it believes that warmth is good for the earth, but, finally, it has to accept the arrival of autumn, which will allow the earth to rest. The gazelle eats the grass and is devoured by the lion. It isn’t a matter of who is the strongest, but God’s way of showing us the cycle of death and resurrection.

And within that cycle there are neither winners nor losers, there are only stages that must be gone through. When the human heart understands this, it is free, able to accept difficult times and not be deceived by moments of glory. Both will pass. One will succeed the other. And the cycle will continue until we liberate ourselves from the flesh and find the Divine Energy.

Therefore, when the fighter is in the ring – whether by his own choice or because unfathomable destiny has placed him there – may his spirit be filled with joy at the prospect of the fight ahead. If he holds on to his dignity and his honor then, even if he loses the fight, he will never be defeated, because his soul will remain intact. And he will blame no one for what is happening to him. Ever since he fell in love for th first time and was rejected, he has known that this did not put “paid” to his ability to love. What is true in love is also true in war.”

The Circle I Walk

“I walk to the North of my sacred space;
Herein all negativity be erased.

I walk to the east where the magic winds dance;
Here I evoke the power of abundance.

I walk to the south where the fires burn bright;
…There I shall banish, all evil, take flight!

I walk to the west, where clear waters flow;
The circle’s completed, blessings bestow!”

My Journey Meditation

I am a child of suns and moons and galaxies beyond our reach. I am air. I am fire. I am water. I am earth. I am made of the dust of distant stars. As I step out into the great unknown, I call to the cosmos to create a circle of energy here. I call to the creatures and deities of the quadrants east, south, west, and north to bless my circle with positive balanced energy. I am safe and protected as I begin the journey of my day. I feel the energy circling around me now.

Here in my circle of light I am the living air.
Here in my circle of light I am the living fire.
Here in my circle of light I am the living water.
Here in my circle of light I am the living earth.

Blessed deities of the east, south, west, and north here is my offering chant.

I am whole and vibrant. I am balanced on the edge of time. There is nothing I cannot accomplish. I feel myself rising into the shining air. I am floating and free, and filled with positive, flowing energy. I know, without any doubts, that I am on my way to becoming all I can be. And all I wish to become is within me now. I breathe in the cool air. I savor the color of the changing sky, and enjoy the view.

When I am ready, I start floating down. I take several deep breaths, coming back , and I am grounded and ready for my earth journey. In honor and thanks I release the energy here. My sircle is open. Budha, Vesta, Afka, Tenga, my thanks to you all.

Witch’s Rune Traditional

Darksome night and silvery moon
East then south then west then north
To thee we sing a witch’s tune
To call the ancient powers forth

Cup for water, airy sword
A pentacle to touch the earth
Fiery wand all in accord
Lady guide us to rebirth

Cord and censer, scourge and knife
Power of the witch’s blade
Waken all ye into life
Come ye as the charm is made

Queen of heaven, queen of hell
Ancient huntress of the night
Listen as we sing this spell
All love and pleasures are your rites

By all the powers of land and sea
By the light of moon and sun
As I will, so mote it be
Chant this spell, so be it done.

The Witch’s Tune

This is another version of the Witch’s Rune, called the witch’s tune. The words were adapted by Aldan.

Dark of night and rising moon,
East, then south, then west, then north
To each we sing a witches’ tune
That calls the ancient powers forth.

Cup for water, fiery sword,
A pentacle to touch the earth,
Airy wand, all in a cord;
Lady, guide us to rebirth.

White for birth, and green for life.
And black for all the worlds between,
Cauldron, censor, scourge and knife
All celebrate the triple queen.

Queen of heaven, earth and hell
Ancient hunter of the night,
Join us as we sing this spell:
All love and pleasure are her rites.

By all the powers of land and sea,
By all the might of moon and sun,
As I will, so mote it be:
Chant the spell, and be it done.

The Coven Chant

O ancient ones of heaven, earth and sea,
We chant the coven spell, thus shall it be!
To music of the night-wind blowing free,
We chant the coven spell, thus shall it be!

The owl hoots within the hollow tree,
The black cat runs by night silently,
The toad beneath the stone dwells secretly,
We chant the coven spell, thus shall it be!

To moon that draws the tides of air and sea,
We chant the coven spell, thus shall it be!
To god that bides beneath the greenwood tree,
We chant the coven spell, thus shall it be!

By witches’ garter bound about the knee,
By staff and cauldron and all powers that be,
We will the thing in our minds we see,
We chant the coven spell, thus shall it be!

(Pause…)

The Spell is flowing like the sea,
The spell is growing like the tree,
Like flame that burns and blazes free.
We chant the spell, thus shall it be!
We chant the spell, thus shall it be!
We chant the spell, thus shall it be!
IT IS!

Summer Invocation

Fireflies and summer sun
in circles round
we become as one.
Singing songs at magick’s hour
we bring the winds
and timeless powers.
Turning inward, hand in hand
we dance the hearth
to heal the land.
Standing silent, beneath the sky
we catch the fire
from out God’s eye.
Swaying breathless, beside the sea
we call the Goddess
so mote it be!
