Using The Color Orange

Wearing orange:

Orange is the color of social communication and optimism. Wearing orange during times of stress, or shock can help to balance your emotions. It can bring about the willingness to embrace new ideas with enjoyment and a sense of exploration and creative play.

Put orange in your life when there is:

  • A feeling of bleakness and boredom, particularly where there is a sense that time is really dragging.
  • A lack of interest in what is going on around you, even to the degree of disdaining to become involved in any way.
  • A resentment of changes in familiar routines and an obsessive need to have things in their “proper” place.
  • Over-seriousness – taking oneself too seriously, lack of humor and playfulness in life.
  • A fear of experiencing pleasure through the senses and of enjoying sensuality.
  • An inability to let go of the past. Especially apparent after an accident or shock where the mind continually revolves around the issues involved – the “what if” and the “if only” …
  • A problem with blocked experiences in life, such as a decrease in personal creativity.

Questions to ask yourself when drawn to orange:

  • Is there a need to let go of old, worn out ideas, things, and/or emotions?
  • What is blocking you?
  • What are you allowing to block you?

Loving orange:

Orange is not the most common favorite color. Someone who likes orange is alive with feelings, the ability to nurture, and can intuit a path to success. If your favorite color is orange, you don’t have an “off” switch when it comes to passion. This is all good stuff, but there’s nothing casual about the connections this kind of person usually forges.

Orange represents the warmth of the fire. It brings even more energy than yellow, celebration and great abundance, comfort, enjoyment of the senses. Warm, sociable, dynamic and independent people who dedicate themselves to whatever they do.

Not loving orange:

A person who has an aversion to orange may have suppressed sexual feelings or other difficulties with sensual enjoyment of life. The attitude can also be over-sensual, indulgent, or too materialistic.

Using The Color Red

Wearing red:

A person may choose to wear red one day and this may indicate they are ready to take action, or they may be passionate about what they are going to do that day, or again it may mean that they are feeling angry that day, on either a conscious or subconscious level. Wear a red accent piece when you want to present yourself as bold and dynamic. It can boost your confidence if you are attending a function or interview where you feel unsure of yourself. If a woman wears a red dress it usually is associated with sex appeal.

Put red in your life when there is:

  • A lack of enthusiasm and interest in life.
  •  A lack of energy and a feeling of over-tiredness.
  • An inability to make your dreams a practical reality.
  • A feeling of insecurity, unwarranted fear, or anxiety.
  • Deficiencies in red and red foods show up as low energy levels, anemia, light-headedness, and lack of stamina.

Questions to ask yourself when drawn to the color red:

  • Is there a need to take action now?
  • What is stopping you from doing what is necessary?

Loving red:

People who love the color red act – sometimes without thinking – on immediate desires. In fact, they’re usually the poster children for immediate gratification. Sometimes people who love red are at war with themselves or others, their lives, and/or circumstances. Red is associated with passionate love, sex, great energy, impulse, action and stimulation, assertiveness and aggression, courage, strength and power, adventure, danger, warnings, revolt and revolution. Temperamental and ambitious people with a need for personal freedom.

Not loving red:

A person who has an aversion to red may be over-active, too impulsive, hot-tempered, aggressive and egocentric, or have difficulties with people with such characteristics. It can also symbolize deeply hidden fears and rejection of his own assertiveness.

Simple Practical Ways To Use Color

Here are some simple, practical ways to use color for healing and to enhance your life and circumstances:

Fill a ruby red colored glass with water and set it outside beneath the morning sun for two hours. Bring it inside and let it warm to room temperature and then slowly sip it. Visualize the water turning red as it flows down your throat and into your stomach. Since red rules energy, this is a terrific color cure for depression. It will also help shrink cancerous tumors.

If you want to come across as a bold and dynamic person, wear a red scarf or a tie. This is also a useful strategy for a social occasion when you feel nervouse about meeting new people.

Sit outside, slightly shaded from the sun, and visualize the sun’s rays pouring the color orange into your body. Imagine it seeping into your pores and soaking into your internal organs. Like red, orange rules energy, and this is an excellent treatment for sexual impotency and digestive ailments.

In times of stress, or after a shock or a surprise, wearing shades of orange can help the body to return to a state of balance.

Sit outside, slightly shaded from the sun, and visualize yellow sunlight streaming into your head and brain. Yellow rules the mind, so if you need to prepare for an upcoming exam, this is an excellent intellectual stimulator.

When working at a computer use a yellow mouse mat to improve your concentration and stay alert.

Fill a green glass with water and set it outside in the morning sun. Let the sun’s rays heat the water for two hours. Bring it inside and let it warm to room temperature. Slowly sip the water. Green calms the nerves. If you have an important speech to give or an important project at work to complete, this is an excellent tranquilizer.

When there is a sense of thwarted ambition, restriction or being trapped by external circumstances, surrounding yourself with greens, or taking a walk in green gardens will restore equilibrium.

At sunrise, sit in a comfortable chair. Straighten your spine and close your eyes. Visualize a blue ray coming down from the ceiling and into your head. Imagine it traveling down your neck, through your arms, down your stomach and into your legs. Like green, blue calms your emotions, but it also soothes a romantic heartbreak or the grief of losing a loved one.

Blue will help the easy flow of communication whether it is with other people or listening to your own thoughts and feelings. To help remember a speech, write your notes on blue paper.

Use the color purple to heal wounds. If you have a wound, broken bones or pain, imagine the color purple seeping down into those areas. Feel its warming power. Purple also connects you with your spiritual center, so if you feel disconnected from your spirit, imagine breathing in a purple cloud, and imagine it totally filling your body.

To find peace for reflection, look up at the clear night sky. Contemplation and deep meditation come easier in the indigo depths of night. Night-time is often when inspirations and solutions to problems naturally arise.

White has the ability to clear away all clutter, all extraneous noise. Fresh starts and new beginnings all benefit from its energy. Looking at a picture of snow-clad mountains brings clarity and freshness to a mind that feels crowded.

In any aggressive or threatening situation, or where there are simple misunderstandings leading to anger, visualizing pink around everyone can help to calm the mood and reduce tension.
