Counting Visitors
i called Shirley and asked her if we were limited to calling the prayer lines or if we could pray any way we wanted to. she said, do anything you want but just tell what you did. so, i had this really powerful and loving prayer experience on Friday night, and i wanted to share it with you all. then i thought…well…it is very personal, and since weirdo stalkerface is obviously still hanging out for fourteen hours at a time, looking at the blog and anonymously posting, did i really want to put anything that personal on the blog? then i once again decided that this is MY project, and it is starting to WORK for me and why not share it? so here goes. Friday night, I was lying in bed, next to my boyfriend…and i knew that he was really tired and sore from work. he had a lot of heavy things to move and hard stuff to do, and i knew his back was really bothering him a lot. I started reikiing him, and at the same time, praying for healing for him. then, it occurred to me…i am right in the middle of serious physical problems, and i couldn’t very well reiki him without reikiing myself…and so i prayed for my own healing as well and let the reiki flow through me and into him. i had such a sweet, peaceful feeling, and felt that i was really enveloped in universal, perfect energy. i started to also pray for the things that we need, like a house, and financial abundance. i gave thanks to our creator for all of my sweet babies, and for this man that i love so much that has made my life a much better place to be. i eventually fell asleep, but the feeling of peace was even still with me when i woke up the next morning.
Later in the day on Saturday, i checked my mail, and there was the paperwork for me to get a house…..i have been on that waiting list for a little over two years, and the last i heard (about a month ago)i was still pretty far from the top of the list, and it wasn’t moving. so it was an incredible surprise to get that, and it means that we will be able to move from this house that is falling down. then, even later on in the eveing, out of nowhere, someone called me for a framing job. it is small, but i know this person and they have a lot of stuff they want framed and so it will probably be a continuing thing. that’s the first paying framing job i have had in about three years. And, yesterday morning, when my boyfriend woke up…he said he felt really good, like he had slept better than he had in a long time. it could all be coincidence, but for the first time in this project i really felt like i was able to release a ‘real’ prayer to the universe. and there, in the mail, was the most important thing that i have asked for. how could i not see that as prosperity from a higher source?
Michelle, I love that story. And I think that if “prayer” was always a deeply felt loving experience, it wouldn’t even matter if the prayers were “answered”, because the experience in and of itself would be such a huge “reward”.
I think that is what has been lacking in my prayer work during this project. I have not been praying myself. I have been calling for prayer, and emailing for prayer, but I have not been praying. And I wonder if this is something that we will discover at the end of the project, as we begin to wrap things up.. that simply asking others to pray for you isn’t enough. You have to pray for yourself too. And when you do pray for yourself, you have to do it in a way that feels real and meaningful.
Looks like I have homework today!
I spent most of today working on The Prayer Request Hotline. A definitive list of a gazillion bonifide places to call or email and ask for prayer.
Saskia has been a big help, she did a lot of the work. Thank you Sskia!
It still needs some tweaking in terms of colors, but is finally ready to start uploading the prayer line info. I will let you guys know when it actually has “stuff” posted. I think it will be a great resource for people looking for a place for help with prayer. And since I plan to submit myself for prayer at each and every place listed – well it will certainly be interesting for me as well.
By the way, it looks like Saskia will be getting a hot water heater. So that’s a big answer to prayer. She has a prayer experience to share, and when she has access to the internet again, she’ll tell you guys about it. In the mean time, she is still praying and waiting for enough money to pay the phone bill.
