If you choose to record this exercise, place your tape player right beside your bed, so you can reach out with your eyes closed to turn it off at the end of the exercise.

  • Close your eyes and feel yourself drifting into sleep. Your breathing is slow and easy.
  • Let your neck relax. Let your shoulders relax. Feel your entire back relaxing. From head to toe, feel your whole body releasing tension.
  • Now, visualize a long, long hallway in your mind. The walls and floors are made of glowing light. See the light, and see yourself slowly walking down the luminous hallway, with your Angel right beside you.
  • At the end of the hallway you see a shimmering portal. This is the doorway to the Angelic Elevator.
  • As you and your Angel get closer, the door slowly opens.
  • Hand in hand, with one of its wings wrapped around your back, your Angel and you step into this elevator.
  • When you do, your body is bathed in the purest, warmest light you can imagine. It soothes your body and flows deeply into every part of you, into every cell.
  • You watch your Angel reach out with the tip of its wing to push one of the glowing buttons on the panel by the door.
  • The elevator door slowly closes. Bathed in light, you and your Angel are slowly rising up into your dreams.
  • If you are working with an affirmation, repeat it now, slowly, several times over.
  • If you would like to ask your Angel a specific question, or seed a particular dream, now is the time to do it.
  • Notice your breathing again.
  • Feel yourself drifting into sleep.
  • Together with your Angel, you are moving up, up, up into the world of dreams.

This is a lovely meditation to help you meet the crystal Deva. You will need a quartz crystal point. The meditation itself can be recorded, or you can print a copy and refer to it as needed.

Make sure your crystal is cleansed by washing in clear water and drying in the sun (or moon)light. Sit quietly holding your crystal in both hands.

Center yourself and calm your breathing. Imagine roots growing out of your feet and curling round the damp soil going deep into the earth, allow your roots to touch the green gold mother earth energy. Draw the energy up towards you with each in breath. Until your whole body and your crystal are filled with the beautiful green-gold mother earth light.

Now reach up with your mind and pluck a strand of pure white light from every star in the heavens and draw it towards you. Allow the strands of light to gather in a ball just above your head. Let the ball grow larger and larger. Now bring that ball pure white heavenly light down through your body to mingle with the green gold mother earth energy within you and your crystal. (This in itself is a wonderful energizing, cleansing and grounding exercise.)

You now see yourself standing on the shore of a lake. On the other side of the water you see your crystal. It has grown to the size of a mountain. With it’s point high up amongst the clouds. Halfway up the crystal mountain you can see a doorway. Stretching from that doorway across the water to just beside you is a rainbow bridge. You can see the rainbow arching gracefully across the lake to the doorway halfway up the crystal mountain.

Your guide has come to take you across the bridge. You can feel the reassuring presence behind you as you step on to the rainbow bridge and begin to glide upwards. As you come to the top of the bridge the air is cool and fresh. You can see the lake stretching out below and around you.

As you glide downwards the crystal doorway comes nearer. Step off the bridge as you arrive beside the doorway, the floor is sandy and cool to your feet. Your guide will wait for you here. This is your journey now.

As you enter the crystal mountain you can see the walls are suffused with an orange glow. Bathe in the gentle orange light as you are gently lifted and begin to float upwards. As you drift notice the walls of the crystal mountain. Look above you as your surroundings now begin to glow with a yellow light.

See how the colors blend as you float ever higher within the Crystal. Yellow gives way to pink as you rise, lighter than air. Pale blue shot with silver now as you travel higher, see the light refracting off the walls. Pale blue changes to deep indigo with gold and brassy flecks blinking and flashing as you drift upwards. Feel surrounded by the deep indigo light. Upwards higher and higher, the indigo pales to the purest violet, with a beauty that catches your breath.

You have reached the very top of the crystal now. There is a floor beneath your feet. Look around you, what can you see?

Very soon the Keeper of the Crystal will come to you. Talk with him or her for a while and recieve the message. When it is time to leave. Thank the crystal angel.

You will begin to float downwards through the colored realms of the crystal mountain. Down through Indigo, drifting gently passing the blue and sliver. Falling gently as a leaf from a tree, through the pink and yellow, finally alighting gently on the sandy floor of the orange area. Close to the doorway where your guide is waiting to take you back across the rainbow bridge.

As you travel across the bridge share with your guide the message from the crystal angel. Perhaps your guide has something to add. Feel reassured by the presence. As you step off the rainbow bridge on to the ground beside the lake, say goodbye to your guide and thank him or her for protection during your journey.

Breathe a little deeper now and begin to bring your awareness back to where you are sitting. Allow your crystal to shrink back to it’s original size between your hands. Let go of that ball of white light and see each beam winging back to it’s star. Become aware again of your roots holding you to the earth. Just experience that feeling for a while as you gently return.

Look at your crystal. Does it look or feel different to you, now you have met it’s angel? Reflect on the message you were given. What does it mean to you? Please remember to take a drink of water after meditating.

If all of the love in the world were contained in one star, it would shine for you.

If all the answers in the world were contained in one word, that word would speak your name.

If the full sea of peace were contained in one drop of water, that drop of water would be on your tongue.

You are the beginning and the end, the alpha and omega, the source and answer, the thought that reaches across time and the timeless beat of the heart of God.

Your importance is immeasurable, for you are what there is. The entire universe is contained in one atom of your being. Each breath you take gives life to all that is.

You do not have to try to be this vital force. You simply are.

Now, right now, go deeply into your heart and find the peace and love that reside there. Now, right now, embrace yourself completely with love, granting to yourself the right to be who you are, as you are, without criticism and contempt, without dissatisfaction and frustration, without blame and regret.

You, exactly as you are, are good. You are what is needed. You are what is wanted. The entire universe embraces you with love, and when it does so, it simply embraces itself.

You cannot lose the love that is there for you, for you are made of love. You cannot lose the light that shines for you, for you are made of light. You cannot disturb the peace that contains you, for you are made of peace, peace and joy and light and love, all made manifest in your being.

Simply be who you are and you will hear the angels singing your name.

Here is a nice meditation by Carrie Hart:

Sit quietly and close your eyes. Take a deep breath in and then out. And another in and then out. And yet another, in and then out. And now, just relax as we ask an angel to come to you and set you free.

See her before you now, a beautiful angel floating in the air, her fluttering wings outspread, a bright golden glow about her head and emanating from her entire body. She is aglow with love, with caring and affection for you.

First, she reaches into a little bag of golden silk and pulls out a handful of sparkling angel dust that she now tosses over you. It falls down upon you, but instead of clinging to your skin, it becomes a band of energy, bright and glowing, around you. This golden glow is clearing the field around you, purifying it, removing any residue of doubt or fear that has been clinging to you.

And now, she pauses and looks deep into your eyes, asking permission. Nod your head yes: Yes, you grant her permission to look into your heart.

She touches you lightly over your heart and your heart opens wide to her view. And as she looks within, you find that you can see it as well.

First, see that your heart is glowing golden. It is made of love. It is a great treasure within you, the place where the light and love are stored. It is glowing and golden but it is also soft and pliable, able to change and adapt as life requires.

But here and there within your heart are some stones you have picked up along the way, things that happened to you, things you considered sad or bad at the time, and you stored them in your heart. At the time these things happened to you, you were unable to just let them be or to examine them and allow them to dissolve, and so you stored them away, hoping that they would not exist in your life any longer.

But yet here they are, stones that you carry in your bright and glowing heart, weighing it down, making it less soft and pliable than it could be. Stones that block some of the bright love from glowing and flowing. Stones that you must carry every day, even though you are not even aware that they are there.

Look at the stones now. There are stones of unforgiveness, bitter and sharp. There are stones of sadness, each a heavy weight your heart must carry. There are stones of anger, hot and smoldering; stones of fear, like chunks of ice that keep the warmth of love from spreading easily; and many pebbles of doubt, which add up to a heavy weight indeed.

The angel now looks again deeply into your eyes. She is asking you a question. Are you ready to free your heart of these burdens? Are you ready to let all of this leave your life? Are you ready to forgive yourself and others, to let go of the anger and bitterness and disappointment? Are you ready to let go even of the doubts about yourself? Are you ready to free yourself of fear?

Nod your head yes: Yes, you are ready.

And now the angel opens wide her silken bag. She reaches into your heart and removes the stones one by one, taking them from your heart and placing them in the bag. One by one, they come out of your heart. And with each one that is removed, you can feel your heart growing lighter and lighter. All the regrets are taken out. All the fears of the future. All the doubts about what you can accomplish. All the anger and frustration, all the disappointment, all of this is removed.

Feel your heart growing lighter and lighter. Feel yourself growing freer and freer. Feel what it is like to let your heart glow as brightly as it can, unencumbered by these burdens it has been carrying. You do not need them any more.

And as your heart glows more brightly, that glow spreads throughout your body. And your body, now exposed to this bright glow of inner love, finds that it no longer needs the habits and addictions that it has been using to shield it from the energy of the stones. Your entire body now feels light and free, bright and glowing.

And the angel looks at you and smiles. Then she closes her silken bag and flies up to the heavens, where she holds the bag to the light. And as you watch, in a great golden burst of light, the stones are all transmuted into love, love bright and golden. And a gentle shower of love begins to fall down upon you, golden drops shimmering in the sky and falling down upon you, pouring over you, covering you in sweet love.

And this you are. Love. Love glowing in your heart. Love glowing in your body. Love shimmering all around you. Purified and clean, glowing and golden, you are.

And all of the possibilities of this precious life are glowing and shimmering around you as well. You can do and be anything. You are utterly fearless and confident. You are completely unburdened with the past. You are in this moment only, shining and bright, feeling and being love, knowing yourself as love and only love.

It is a new day and a new life. You are born anew in love and the world lies open before you. Step into it and embrace it now, right now. You are this sparkling wonder of love. You are.

  • Find a quiet spot to sit for a moment.

Close your eyes and imagine you can feel the presence of your Guardian Angel. If you could see this Angel, what would it look like to you? Any shape or form is fine, for your angel will take on the shape you need the most, the form you want to see. Your Angel encourages contact from you and is quite willing to mold its form into a shape that you find comfortable with.

  • Imagine this as clearly as you can.

Imagine that this Angel is smiling, that this Angel is radiating a love that surrounds you with comfort, safety, and security. Really feel this feeling in your body if you can. Feel it in your emotions.

  • Imagine that your Angel is saying to you these words: “It’s all right. It’s all right, It’s all right.”

Allow your body to feel the relief that accompanies these words. Allow your body to feel relief in the knowledge that it *is* all right. For it is all right for you to be who you are, to think what you think and to feel what you feel.

If there is something else that you would like your Guardian Angel to say to you – something that is loving, that holds no judgement, only love – a greater love than you have ever experienced in this lifetime – then imagine your Angel saying this to you.

  • Feel the words of your Angel moving through your body, settling your unsettled emotions, calming your confusion.

Thank your angel for this gift. And know that the words your Angel has said and the feeling of comfort your angel has brought you, the feeling of safety, is yours.

You can tap into this at any time, in any place. It is your birthright. Through the use of imagination, to imagine that your Angel is there, you tap into the reality that your Angel *is* there. Through the use of your imagination, you begin to develop a relationship with your Guardian Angels or with the other High Beings and Angels around you.

These exercises in imagination are the beginnings of a wonderful reality in which you begin to understand the essence of who you are.

  • Invite your Angel to be with you at other times.

Acknowledge your Angel’s presence when you are sitting in the theatre watching a movie, enjoying a beautiful song, or during a time of discomfort or stress. Know that your Angel is with you at all times, in good and in bad, and you give yourself the gift of safety, of security, of knowing that you are not alone. You do not have to face your world alone. You have help.

With every breath we take, nature is potentially providing us with an opportunity of shifting our consciousness and entering an enlightened state. The reason this gateway to the greater reality remains firmly shut for most of us is that we don’t give it our attention. We are much more committed to following the commands of our inner commentator with its incessant stream of thoughts over which we have little control.

If we get into the habit of using our breath as a means of focusing attention away from our thoughts to our feelings, we would gradually obtain sovereignty over our mind and liberate ourselves from the compulsions and addictions of habitual and often idle thought. Above all, instead of debating good and bad, pros and cons in our thoughts, we open an instant highway to the spontaneous wisdom of the heart.

It is the decision making process more than anything else that will train our mind to embrace Stillness instead of continuing to endure the constant inner chatter and uncontrolled commentary of our thoughts. By deciding to favor our breathing with our attention, rather than our inner chatter, we are gradually training our minds to embrace a greater reality. From then on our thoughts will become our tools and instruments rather than our masters.

The best way to deprive our thoughts of their compulsive nutrition is by using a different mode of thinking and perception. Instead of seeing with your eyes which is then narrated and judged by our mind and our old ideas, we learn to see with your heart, without judgement or interpretation. Using the same process when speaking and hearing will make a difference to the quality of our communication.

This new mode of gathering information or communicating will connect us to a higher level of reality. It will also open the channels of intuition, which is basically a much more evolved form of thinking as it encompasses information we are consciously unaware of.

This new mode of operating our senses can be learned like any other skill. We will know when we are successful when our stream of thoughts becomes quiet and everything becomes still around us. Our thoughts are no longer in the driving seat and instead of continuous judgement, which takes all our energy and deprives us our objectivity, we become aware of a powerful feeling of compassion, love and connectedness to all life. Our ego identifications become less important as we begin to identify with the the space surrounding us rather than the voices in hour head. We access reality directly rather than our interpretation of it and gain a much more inclusive understanding of who we are.

The best way to practice this kind of Seeing and Thinking with our Heart is by connecting our feeling to our breathing. As we breathe constantly anyway, we can practice this technique all day long. Instead of following our thoughts we simply decide to follow our breathing. We do this breathing in the awareness of the energy and the stillness surrounding us through the base of our body.(see diagram) We then follow our breath as it reaches our heart. We then surrender our breath again to the Stillness of the greater consciousness surrounding us, the same space of consciousness where we have taken it from.

The surrender of our breath or outbreath is accompanied by a feeling of goodwill or love. With this feeling of love we also automatically surrender the idea of our limited ego identification without even thinking about it. Instead we take comfort in the fact that we offer everything we are to a greater reality and the much larger reality of our true being.

This is the Anytime Anywhere Meditation because we can do it anytime and anywhere, whilst washing, having breakfast, driving to work, in the office, at lunch, in the cinema, talking to friends or operating machinery because it is a feeling rather than a conscious thought process. We favor surrender rather than clinging to our thoughts and judgments. Gradually our thoughts will learn to follow the wisdom that rises from the heart rather than insist on its old prejudicial pattern. As our thinking becomes more clear and we become in tune with reality our actions will be guided by the rise of wisdom, and we will use our mind as an instrument.

This is a transcript of an interview with author Jurgen Ziewe about The Ten Minute Moment by Evita Ochel. I found it interesting and informative, and so am sharing it here:

  • Evita:

Your book The Ten Minute Moment shares your personal journey of a solitary meditation retreat in a remote log cabin in the mountains of Scotland. What is the greatest impact that this experience had on you, as you see it today?

  • Jurgen:

The profound experience mentioned in the book formed a tipping point, which turned out to be irreversible. There is no going back. Now everything existing in the present moment is of equal importance, because every appearance is supported by the all pervading reality of stillness and unity. There is no getting away from the fact that all reality — and no matter how this reality presents itself in my daily life — is underpinned by pervading stillness against which everything else plays out, which of course is always transient.

I discovered I could no longer ignore or turn my back to this resilient fact. The reality of it is just too overpowering, too obvious. I only have to look at anything, any object at all, to find proof of it, to see this unity. Everything that exists, simply by my awareness of it, convinces me of this profound fact. I knew, that from this moment onwards, this stillness and profound peace was against which everything else had to be evaluated and considered.

  • Evita:

Given your vast experiences with meditation over the years, how would you describe what meditation is?

  • Jurgen:

To me meditation is simply accepting that I am already one with all. Meditation is the surrendered resting in this overwhelming fact. So I don’t have to do anything special, just accept this reality. With this acceptance comes the security that I do not need to go anywhere or aim for anything. I simply surrender to its fulfillment. Knowing that I am already here, united with my source I simply rest in and relish the reality of it. There is nowhere else to go. I am already where I am meant to be. To me that is meditation.

However, should I consider a traditional meditation technique when resting in my chair, such as focusing on the light or a mantra, I then simply take the position of the light and rather than focusing on it, I radiate out from it into the universe surrounding me, because I am already the light or the mantra.

  • Evita:

There are many types of meditation talked about in our society and beginners are often confused about what kind of meditation to do. What is your recommendation in this regard?

  • Jurgen:

To me Meditation is an individual contract each one of us makes with their own source, God or their Higher Self; a contract which is simply based on love. I realize that some people may take a different route, and that is why I think it has to be an individual path. With billions of people there are billions of meditation techniques. The good news is that the moment I direct my attention within, I develop more of a sense of what is good for me and what is not. To me, the meditation is to find the best way to open a channel of communication to the inner teacher.

  • Evita:

Many people who attempt meditation are often also frustrated by the constant chatter of thoughts expressed by the mind, which they cannot seem to turn off or escape from. What is your advice on how to overcome this?

  • Jurgen:

Show kindness to your thoughts. When kindness and love rise in your awareness these feelings are more powerful than thoughts. Giving preference to appreciation, gratitude and love makes meditation and the focus much easier, more pleasurable and more rewarding. I see thoughts like boats on the ocean, where the ocean is love. When love becomes the carrier of my meditation then my thoughts become like sailing boats on the ocean’s surface, submitting to the carrying elements. If the ocean is calm my thoughts are calm and pacified, and my meditation will be enjoyable.

But sometimes thoughts come along which need attention. Some thoughts are not really worthwhile and I simply let them wither by not paying them any attention. Others are powerful and crave for every ounce of awareness I can give. Their challenge makes me dig deep until I reach the level of wisdom. So sometimes these big compelling thoughts can lead me to a much deeper level of awareness. I know when I have reached this level because it is like a crystal lake of reflection, with its mirror surface it reflects my thought from all sides. I use kindness and understanding in my reflection and never condemn. I let no aspect be unattended to or rejected, and show all of its aspects the greatest respect. Because, deep down I know I am the parent of my thoughts, which I recognize as my own children. Like a good father I guide my thoughts into the clear light of understanding, then peace will result or a clear plan of action will emerge.

Then there are thoughts that are like warm honey from a flower of wisdom and knowing deep within. They are the gift of inspiration which are offered to enrich my life and the lives of others. I show my gratitude to these offerings and store them in my soul for later use.

Then there can be habitual or addictive thoughts trying to steal my attention, I simply stop feeding these until they wither and instead favour the reality of ‘what is’ and the unspoken moment which doesn’t require thought. If I do not succeed I simply rest my awareness on my breath or any other feeling I can devote my love to until I find rest and calm awareness.

  • Evita:

Intentional silence, solitude and stillness to experience pure being have become increasingly rare in our world today. Why are these experiences important to prioritize and cultivate in our lives?

  • Jurgen:

Real silence, solitude and stillness are only found once the self referential chatter of our mind has stopped. The mind is a Perpetuum Mobile, always feeding and needing to be fed, always striving for answers while continually remaining unsatisfied. We may turn to solitude in nature and yet the mind may be churning out its constant chatter. Real solitude is to be found when this chatter is disrupted by something that takes our attention into a completely new direction, which is inaccessible to the mind. This is actual experience, which enriches the heart and our feeling.

Instead of channeling our input through our senses via the mind, we channel our input through the heart. Instead of hearing and seeing the bird in the tree, we identify with and ‘become’ the bird in the tree by sending it our love and experience its existence. After all, in reality, consciousness is not limited to our own body and self, but it is everywhere we look at and place our attention on. The moment our attention is placed on the all surrounding ‘us’ we experience true silence and stillness because there is no longer anything the limited mind can divide us from. There is only the experience of pure being.

Sometimes we need to create space in our lives to disrupt the constant flow and feedback of information. To be alone with our thoughts and our self is just as important for our mind and soul, as a good diet and exercise is for our body. Daily, regular meditation can give us this space even in the busiest metropolis and provides the nourishment for our soul.

  • Evita:

At the end of the book you share 12 markers of an awakened life that you noticed have manifested in your life. Which one, would you say, has been the most instrumental in changing who you are and how you live your life today, and why?

  • Jurgen:

Number two. The constant feeling of being home. This is the most persistent experience because there is no longer such a thing as an outside world. I am always home wherever I am, even in the biting cold of the winter storm, because that too is the experience of what I am. Wherever I want to be I am already here and that fills me with great peace and satisfaction. My greatest joy is the constant experience that I am Here, that I have been chosen and blessed simply to be alive.

  • Evita:

What do you see today, as the greatest obstacle that humans of this Earth reality face to advance their spiritual evolution, and what can be done about this?

  • Jurgen:

Reality is simple, it’s just that we are so engrossed in our mental interpretation of it that we have lost our natural means of communication with that which simply is. Present reality is the great leveler, there for all, from insect to human, and we don’t need the mind to access it. We simply need to be and live in the acceptance of our being. The most natural way to do so is to surrender to it without thinking about it. The moment we surrender, reality makes us a conscious part of its universal being and bliss.

How do we surrender when we are so accustomed to and in need of control, when our first line of confronting a situation is via our emotions, instincts, and conditioned behavior?

The first action would be to surrender to any given situation via our heart first, by accepting it, appreciating the presence of its reality. Accepting here-now reality and the way it presents itself by sidestepping the ego creates space for intuition to come to the fore and guide our interaction. Acceptance creates space and makes it apparent that we are an intrinsic part of the challenge. This offers us a greater view of the situation from within and we are able to appreciate the position of others. Instead of controlling a situation on a whim we are adapting to its inherent nature, which is not blindsided by self interests. We derive strength and power from an underlying current of what is right and true, which will give us the authority and strength to act in harmony with its inherent laws and make our decisions with clarity.

When we wake up to this simple and amazing fact that stillness underpins all reality and gently and with kindness go about our daily business, we calmly take stock and begin to understand what needs to be done. We begin to see that that which we think is us, is in fact only a minuscule part of the whole. Instead of seeing the world only in relation and separation to ourselves, we begin to experience the world around us as a whole and as our home. Once this realization manifests in our daily life, we begin to act in a way which benefits the whole. By asking “how can I serve?” we benefit ourselves because we are part of the vast reservoir we are serving.

  • Evita:

Thank you so much Jurgen for sharing your time, love and wisdom with us here today. Your message is always shared with such an immense amount of gentleness and compassion, yet it guides us to the core of truth like a laser, with utmost focus and clarity.

Here is an excerpt from an interview with Jurgen Ziewe, in which he talks about meditation. I found it interesting and helpful, so am sharing this here:

  • Question:

Meditation can mean different things to different people, so what is your exact definition of “meditating”?

  • Answer:

To me meditation means living in the present or as Eckhard Tolle says, “living in the now”. Meditation begins by forming a habit that allows you to put yourself in control of your thoughts, which means if you focus during meditation on the light, a mantra or anything else and thoughts pop up you simply say, “OK, now lets go back to the focus” without any force whatsoever.

It is the continuous “OK, now lets go back to the focus” which is the most powerful aspect of meditation not necessarily the object of the meditation, such as the light or the mantra and can almost be anything.

What you are doing is conditioning your mind into following your intent. It’s a bit like training a dog. Once you have achieved this you simply focus on consciousness during meditation and during your daily life. You’ll gradually find yourself living more and more in the present or in the “Now”. Your focus becomes much better too as a result and your life more rewarding, blissful even. There is no reason why you cannot meditate whilst out of the body which can have spectacular results.

  • Question:

On the topic of meditating, do you know what is an optimal way to become more able at perceiving and expanding with/through the consciousness? I have been attempting for a while to do this, but without much success.

  • Answer:

A common misconception is that meditation needs somehow a lot of effort or discipline. Quite frankly, the opposite is the case. It’s more a matter of favoring focus on whatever you are meditating on instead of the thoughts which inevitably arise. Thoughts are OK, as long as they don’t dominate us.

Thoughts can be great fun and we have developed a whole industry creating entertainment for our thoughts. The trick is to be able to decide which thoughts we want or whether we want them at all and instead enjoy the underlying serenity of the present moment without thought distraction.

Meditation to me is habituating the mind so it finally naturally follows our intent. It is not to control our mind or dominate it. As such meditation is a beautiful experience, because we never reject our thoughts we just regard them like our children we love, but who we won’t allow to tyrannise us.

The aim of the meditation should be: “OK, now lets gets get back to our focus”, it is this process which is important not the focus itself such as light, sound or mantra. Once focus follows your intent effortlessly your attention simply lingers quite naturally on reality, the moment, the present, God or whatever you wish to call it.

Once we have freedom from the compulsion of thinking we simply focus our attention on awareness or consciousness itself without any attributes dictated by our thinking or imagination, which means we live in the present and become aware of what makes the present. We live in reality.

  • Question:

Many chant different Names of God and mantras. The specific thing they chant does mean something because they are utilizing that specific Name of God/mantra.

  • Answer:

There is often a misunderstanding about the use of mantras. Some people think just by chanting and repeating the mantra they are getting closer to the higher consciousness or God. I found this to be an illusion. When seen from a higher level such chants look more like a marble clattering around endlessly in an empty jam jar without ever leaving it’s confines.

Often the chanter even thinks about other things while chanting like some robot or tape recording, clearly without the heart being in any way connected. This is as pointless as planting a crystal in the ground and expecting it to grow into an oak tree.

As pointed out previously the mantra can be a powerful vehicle for transporting consciousness into subliminal levels, but we will have to engage with the mantra. The most effective way is by totally surrendering to or identifying with the mantra. This way the mantra is no longer an object of our meditation but it’s manifestation with which we will have merged.

Sunstone meditation can help you feel the powers of the sun and light. With Sunstone’s light, it can help clear and energize your chakras.

  • Here is the meditation:

Hold a sunstone in each hand, palms open. Close your eyes and breathe complete breaths. Breathe in and out, slowing your breath. Imagine that you are a bright light, and that your hands, arms, head, and neck glow with the brightness of this light. Envision the light expanding and covering everything abundantly. Feel the warmth of your skin as it glows and spreads the light. Feel the warmness of the light as it heals your mind, body, and spirit.

Sit quietly where you will not be disturbed.

Be aware of your Light Body, or Mer-Ka-Ba, if you can. If you cannot, then just be aware of a tube of light that is embedded inside your body. If you are Buddhist, you may be aware of this tube. It is similar to a fluorescent tube in that it is straight and glass-like and about the same diameter.

If you hold your middle finger and thumb together, that will be the size of your tube. It runs from one hand length above your head to one hand length below your feet. It enters your head at the crown chakra on the top of the head or, in other words, the place where a baby pulses directly after birth. It then leaves the body at the perineum, the soft place between the anus and the genitals, but continues between the legs to one hand length below the feet.

Place your attention on this tube as you begin.

Shift your attention to Mother Earth, the Divine Female. Let yourself feel love for her. See nature, trees, rivers, mountains etc., and feel love for this beautiful planet. Realize how much that she has given to you, and allow your emotional body to feel love for her.

This cannot be intellectualized. You cannot say to yourself, “I am now feeling love for Mother Earth”. It must be a fully body experience. You must actually “feel” love for her. If you cannot really feel love for Mother Earth, then there is no need to continue.

Once the feeling of love is in your heart

Once the feeling of love is in your heart, then imagine your love being put into a small ball about two inches in diameter at your heart chakra. This chakra is just above the sternum and in the center of your body (inside the tube).

Now with your intention, send this love (in the little ball) down your tube to the center of the earth, and wait for a reply from Mother Earth. She will reply. You are her child; of course she will reply.

For some this happens almost instantly. For others it may take two or three minutes. You will “feel” the reply. You will “feel” her love coming back to you. When you do, let the love spread through your Light Body.

Connecting with Father Sky

Without breaking the connection to Mother Earth that you have just made, shift your attention to what we call Father Sky, the Divine Male. Father Sky is the rest of creation other than the earth. See perhaps, the night sky with all the stars shinning brightly. See the Milky Way and the other planets moving through space.

Feel the love you have for the Father. When this love becomes strong, place this love into a small ball at your heart chakra, and send it up your tube into the space above the earth about 60 miles above the earth’s surface. We cannot explain what happens here, as it is too complicated. You will have to trust.

Send your love into the space surrounding the earth, and wait for a reply from Father Sky. You will “feel” his love coming back to you. When you do, let the love spread through your Light Body.

The next part of this meditation

Now you have both the love of the Divine Mother and the love of the Divine Father in your heart at the same moment. This seldom happens in human experience. You are now ready for the next part of this meditation.

Without stopping this Divine Love, place your attention on your breathing tube. Be aware of the very ends or tips of the tube one-hand length above your head and one hand length below your feet. Now with your intention, open this tube so that the consciousness of All Life Everywhere begins to flow into your body. This is the very consciousness of God. This Light will instantly pervade your entire Light Body.

You are now breathing God. God is everywhere. God has always been within your space. This meditation simply allows you to be aware of it by making a conscious connection. This almost always is a very powerful experience.

One more part

There is one more part. There is a cosmic law that says that whenever we receive, we must give back. At this point, imagine a sphere around your body, (or use one of the actual energy spheres if you are aware of them) that is filled with the Light from God that entered through your tube.

See this sphere surrounding your entire body. Now let this sphere begin to expand like a balloon being blown up. First slowly, then faster and faster. After a second or two it will be moving at a tremendous speed. Now let it expand with the intention that it returns to God. It expands at the speed of thought to the source of the Light. It expands throughout all dimensions and all levels of reality. God is now breathing you.

The image is a flow coming in through your breathing tube, spreading throughout your Light Body, and then returning to the Source.

At this moment, you are in the presence of God. If you really do this with truth and honesty, this connection is all you need to find your way through these incredible times.

The Final Step

Now the object is to stay in this state of consciousness at all times. Remember and know your intimate connection to God. What else is there? What could you possibly fear? Everything will come to you. Life is whole, complete and perfect.
