Halloween Luggie Spell
In this popular Halloween divination spell, three dishes are taken. One is empty; one contains dirty water and the last one has clean water. These dishes are arranged on the hearth. People are blindfolded and taken to the dishes. They then dip their fingers into the dishes, one by one. Those who dip their fingers in clean water first will marry a virgin; those who dip in dirty water will marry a widow or widower, while those who find empty dish are destined to be a bachelor or a spinster.

Shirt Sleeve Spell
To see the face of your true lover, wet a shirt-sleeve on Halloween night and hang it near the fire to dry. Lie still in bed and watch it closely till midnight. You will see that your future partner will appear to turn the sleeve.

Hemp Seed Love Divination
and sow a handful of hemp seed saying:

Halloween Herring Divination Spell
It is said that if you eat a salted herring on Halloween night just before you sleep, you will be visited by your future husband or wife. He or she will come to offer you water and quench your thirst, in your dream.

Herring Divinations
To see an image of your future spouse: Eat a whole salted herring in three mouthfuls, retire to bed without a drink and don’t say a word. That night you will dream of your future partner.
To know if a future husband will be attractive and trustworthy, throw the white membrane of a herring at a wall. If the skin sticks to the wall and is not a crooked shape, your future husband will be attractive and trustworthy. If the herring skin sticks crookedly or fails to stick, your future spouse will be undesirable.

Picking a Suitor
If you have a number of suitors and wish to find which one is best for you, there is a ritual that may be done at night when the moon is shining. Draw a large circle on a sheet of paper and write the names of your admirers anywhere within the circumference. Take up the paper in your left hand, and hold a needle in your right hand. Facing the moon, close your eyes and stab the needle into the paper.
The name closest to the hole made by the needle is the one who is best for you. If the hole actually posses through the name – so that moonlight flows through the hole and, therefore, through the name – then that person will be the very best match for you.
