Children
If a child is in need of healing or relief from pain, then say this prayer. It’s been said that when parents pray on behalf of their children, those prayers are answered first in Heaven.
I also recommend handwriting the prayer and placing it face up on a cabinet or shelf in the child’s bedroom. If the child is old enough to say prayers, ask the child to say the prayer with you:
Thank you, God, for my child’s perfect health. Thank you for peace within my child’s body. Thank you, Archangel Raphael, for your powerful healing energy, which heals everything rapidly with each breath my child takes. Thank you, Damara, for gently comforting and reassuring me and my child. Thank you, Hathor, for clearly instructing me on how I can best help my child. Thank you, Mother Mary, for watching over all of us and sending us your Divine healing love.

This is a fun magickal activity that is also great for children. Collect dandelions that have gone to seed. One easy way is to take a jar with you and snip the heads off letting them drop into the jar.
So not put a lid on the jar yet. First, and this is important, allow them to dry thoroughly by placing the jar in a warm space. If you put the lid on too soon, the seed heads will get damp and moldy and the whole thing will be a mess.
When the dandelions are nice and dry, put a lid on the jar. And label it “My Jar of Wishes.” They will keep for a very long time.
Whenever a wishing spell is called for, you can take your jar of wishes outside, pull out a dandelion, and blow on it allowing the seeds to disperse in the wind.
As you do this you can say:
“Dandelion wishes grant for me
All that I wish for
And so shall it be!”

Hecate rides a chariot drawn by dragons, symbolizing her dominion over the menstrual process. Other emblems include a broomstick, a flaming torch to light the way through dark passages, and a key that unlocks all doors, gates, and roads including the birth canal.
Petition Hecate for safe, smooth delivery prior to going into labor. In addition midwives may always request Hecate’s assistance, guidance, and protection. The same ritual spell serves laboring women and midwives alike.
- Put thirteen separated but unpeeled garlic cloves on a plate.
- Cover them with honey, lavender honey if at all possible. (You can also infuse plain honey with lavender blossoms.)
- Leave this at a crossroads, preferably at midnight, but at least after dark, either on the final day of any month or during the Dark Moon Phase.
- Murmur your prayers and petitions and go home, without looking back.
If you hear dogs or see them, especially black dogs or lone dogs unaccompanied by people, this is very auspicious (but should not be taken as an invitation to approach a strange dog, if caution suggests otherwise.) Hecate also sometimes manifests in the form of a black cat.
Note: This spell can be used for any project or idea that you are working to “birth” or “bring into the world.” Just be sure that it is something about which you care deeply.

For this ritual, you’ll need the following:
- A bag of jellybeans
- Marshmallow Peeps — chicks, bunnies, etc.
- A chocolate rabbit for each particpant
- A glass of milk for each participant
Arrange your ritual supplies on your altar so they look pretty. Kids can do this — typically the chocolate rabbits end up in the center, surrounded by an army of Peeps and several rings of jellybeans. A quick note — you might want to perform this ritual well in advance of mealtime, or all the kids will be too full of candy to eat a real dinner.
First, give everyone present a handful of jellybeans. Point out the different colors in the jellybeans, and what they can represent. As you call out each one, eat the jellybeans in that color. Feel free to be a bit goofy. Say something like:
Behold, little jelly eggs, small symbols of the season,
How we adore you!
Green is for the grass that springs from the land!
(eat all the green jellybeans)
Yellow is for the sun shining above our heads!
(eat all your yellow jellybeans)
Red is for the tulips that grow in our garden!
(eat your red jellybeans)
Pink is for Aunt Martha’s new Easter hat!
(eat your pink jellybeans)
Purple is for the crocuses that sprout along our driveway!
(eat the purple ones)
Continue this until all the colors are gone — if you really want to have some fun, make the kids take turns naming off the colors and what they mean to them. When they’re all gone, call out:
Hail! Hail! to the mighty jelly bean of Spring!
Next, hand out the marshmallow Peeps. As you do, say:
Behold the Peep! The Peep is life, brought back in the spring!
Little Peep chickens, we honor you!
(bite the Peep chicks)
Little Peep bunnies, we honor you!
(bite the Peep bunnies)
Continue this until the Peeps are all gone — it’s probably a good idea to limit each kid to just two or three Peeps at the most. When the Peeps have all vanished, call out:
Hail! Hail! to the mighty Peeps of Spring!
Finally, distribute the chocolate rabbits. Say:
Behold the great chocolate rabbit!
As he hops through the land, he spreads joy and happiness!
O, how we adore the chocolate rabbit and his great big chocolate ears!
(eat the rabbit’s ears)
Praise the chocolate rabbit, and his delicious chocolate tail!
(eat the rabbit’s tail)
Honor this chocolate rabbit, and his chocolate hoppity legs!
(eat the rabbit’s legs)
He is a wonderful rabbit, and he is special indeed!
(eat the rest of the rabbit)
When the rabbits are all gone, say:
Hail! Hail! to the mighty chocolate rabbit of Spring!
Give everyone a glass of milk, and raise your drinks in a toast to these three symbols of the season.
To the jelly beans!
To the Peeps!
To the chocolate rabbit!
We drink in your honor!
Drink your milk, and sit back to enjoy the sensation of being stuffed with ritual candy.

Among the most famous miracle-working rabbis was Judah the Pious (1150-1217), author of the influential Book of Angels. Although many other rabbis are credited with miracle cures, usually their methods aren’t revealed – just vague tales of prayer and ritual. A legend, however, explicitly explains how Judah the Pious effected a cure and why it worked. Adapt to your own situation.
In the story, a woman who had previously borne children, now older (old enough to perform the ritual for their mother), wished to have another child but found herself unable to do so. She petitioned Judah the Pious for help.
His prescription? He had her children dig a grave for her and place her within it and pretend to mourn for her. Unknown to the woman, children, and other participants in the ritual, Judah had hired armed men to make a sudden show of attack. The children were so terrified that, forgetting their mother and the ritual, they immediately scattered and ran off, at least temporarily.
For that moment it was as if the woman didn’t exist, which caused the spirits, blocking her fertility, to mimic the children and scatter also, searching for other hosts.
The woman arose from her grave, fresh and reborn, and according to the legend, very quickly conceived.
