Solve A Problem Spells

You will need:
  • A tarot deck and the following cards:
Justice –  The World  –  Nine of Cups
  • Six candles of the following colors:
    Gray – Orange – Indigo – Purple – Black – Gold
First, you must recite the opening chant:

“I move outside the limits of time to work my spell
The dragons help me weave the universal energy
The things that now exist become what I desire
The tides of Magick answer unto me”

Arrange the cards in order, left to right: Justice, The World, and then Nine of Cups. Arrange the candles below the cards in this order: gray, orange, indigo, purple, black, and gold. Light the candles and after clearing your mind, say:

“Gray mists to hide what I must do.
Orange light to change my luck and give me power.
Indigo strength to stop gossip and lies.
Purple power to break bad luck and drive away evil.
Great black walls to protect me from my enemies.
Sun-gold beams to give me fortune and success.
I stand surrounded by these powerful lights.
I ask the dragon’s help to succeed in my case.”

Concentrate a few moments on the cards and your objective. After this say the closing chant:

“My thanks to the dragons, great and small, who came to answer my call,
We wove the Magick, wild and free, And as I will, so shall it be.”

Place the candles in a safe place so they will not catch anything on fire, such as in a sink or even in the bath tub, and allow them to burn themselves out.

From: The Spell Cabinet

Items Needed:

  • Purple (votive) candle
  • Pen and paper
  • Vegetable oil
  • Fireproof dish
  • Cayenne pepper

Inscribe the candle with your name, then draw the infinity symbol (a horizontal figure 8), both above and below your name. Anoint the candle with vegetable oil and roll it in cayenne pepper. (If you hold the candle by the wick, you can avoid getting oil and cayenne pepper all over your fingers.)

Write a brief description of the situation on the paper and place it under the candle holder. Light the candle and say:

Wax and herb, now bring me power
That grows with every passing hour.
Bring control back unto me.
As I will, so mote it be!

Let the candle completely burn down, then burn the paper in the fireproof dish. Flush the ashes down the toilet, or bury them under a tree.

Petition the Goddess Hecate to break your block through the use of her sacred emblems. Hecate’s attributes include:

  • Key
  • Broom
  • Torch
  • Cauldron
  • Dragons
  • Dogs

Collect charms representing these images to place on a charm bracelet. This is a spell in progress. Each time you locate a charm, consecrate it to Hecate and request that she unblock your roads. Wear the bracelet or carry it in a conjure bag, especially when free access is needed.

Other symbols associated with Hecate, and which could be included are:

Crossroads, New Moon, Number 3, Dagger, Serpent, Polecat, Owl, Willow, Star

source: Coven Of Hecate

Here is a simple ritual to invoke the power of Hekate to unlock doors which until now have been closed to you, to create openings in the impenetrable areas of your life, or to open and unblock areas in your self that have been locked away:

You will need the following:

  • A three way crossroads in your area that offers some privacy.
  • Bake or buy a small cheesecake – this will be left as an offering
  • 13 small black candles
  • A black candle large enough to burn through the night.
  • Wine, honey, or milk (or a mixture of the three) to offer as a libation at the crossroads.
  • Three keys – also to be left at the crossroads.

Spend some time thinking about what it is that you would like Hekate to unlock for you in your life while gathering your supplies. When you have everything gathered together, light the larger black candle and begin chanting:

Dark Mother
Dark Mother
You walk with me
Like no other
Dark Mother

Continue chanting as you leave your house and go to the crossroads. Once there, spend a few moments in silence allowing the Dark Mother, Hekate to make herself known. You might hear dogs barking, you might see shadows in the trees, you might hear horses, or the wind might speak.

When you feel that She is there, explain that you are leaving the cake as an offering, ask for Her help in unlocking whatever it is that you need help with. Use your own words, speak out loud and with confidence.

Place the cheesecake on the ground, light the candles, and then pour a libation. If it is inappropriate or a fire hazard to leave the candles burning, pour the libation over the lit candles and the cake, if not, pour the libation in a circle around the cake.

Now, explain that you are leaving three keys as a demonstration of your willingness to allow the Goddess to work in your life. Place one key at each corner of the crossroads. As you place the key, make a statement of thanks.

As soon as that is done immediately leave the area without looking back. When you get back to your home, spend some time in silence sitting with the candle you lit before leaving the house. Allow it to burn completely down.

Substitutions

The following items can be substituted in a pinch:

If you do not have access to a crossroads, an image of a crossroads, such as a photograph, or drawing will be fine. If you have a private place outdoors, take the image with you and complete the ritual as if the image is the crossroads, leaving everything behind just as you would if you had gone to a crossroads. The next day (if the items cannot remain as is) you can collect everything that was left outside – these items should then be buried nearby or burned.

If you don’t have a place outdoors, the ritual can be done indoors. When it is complete, take the cake, the wine, and the keys outside where they should stay overnight. You can then collect what’s left of them in the morning and bury them nearby or burn them.

Red, white, and yellow are colors sacred to Hekate and can be substituted for the black candles.

If you don’t have keys, you can make them either by forming aluminum foil into “key” shapes, cutting key shapes from cardstock, or finding a pictures of keys in a magazine or newspaper and cutting those out. Alternatively, an old credit card can be cut into 3 pieces.

Spell by Madame Fortuna

Here is a great spell to get energy moving and good things happening in any area of your life that feels “stuck”.

You will need:

  • Soft butter (margarine will do, but real butter is better)
  • Powdered ginger
  • Nutmeg
  • Sugar
  • A bowl you often use when cooking
  • Wooden spoon
  • Paper
  • Red pen, pencil, or marker

Take some time to think about what it is that feels stuck in your life. Do some journaling if it is helpful. This is a very powerful spell, and it is important to be really clear about what it is that you really want.

Now, write a sentence that defines what you want the “stuck” area of your life to be like. For example, if you feel that your are stuck in a bad relationship, your sentence might read. “I am enjoying a loving, committed, and healthy relationship with a really nice person.”

Using the soft butter and your finger, write your sentence on the inside of the bowl. The butter will smooth the way, so be liberal.

Now, on separate and small pieces of paper write down all the attributes, qualities, possibilites, and potentialities associated with your goal. They might look like this: “I am happy.” “My relationship is solid.” “I have a great relationship.” “Love is in my life.” “I am loved.” “My lover is kind.” “We have a healthy relationship.” “My lover respects me.”

Write these smaller affirmations in as many different ways as possible. Be specific, be creative, be inventive. Put them into the bowl. No need to fold them up, but you can if you want to.

When you have all of your affirmations written and added to the bowl, add a pinch of ginger, a generous dash of nutmeg, and a teaspoon of sugar.

Now take your wooden spoon and mix it up. As you mix, say the following spell three times:

Ice into water
The winds bring change
Wood becomes fire
Nothing stays the same

All is well
All is well
All is well

Every day for 7 days, mix up your affirmations and repeat the spell. At the end of 7 days, burn the affirmations in a fire. As you do this, say thank you to the invisible world for the changes that have already begun.

Goal: To come up with new ideas.

Optional extras: A yellow candle (to represent intellect); a cauldron or empty bowl (to represent the open possibilities)

Note: The best time to cast is early morning, just as the sun is rising. Stand in front of the empty bowl, light the candle, and hold out your empty hands in front of you. Try to visualize yourself as being as open and empty as the bowl, waiting to be filled with ideas and inspiration.

The incantation:

Focus, focus, hocus pocus
Open up my mind and heart
Focus, focus, hocus pocus
Let the thinking process start
Focus, focus, hocus pocus
Send ideas new and old
Focus, focus, hocus pocus
Planning subtle or actions bold
Focus, focus, hocus pocus

Focus, focus, hocus pocus
Grant to me the best solution.

After: Write down any ideas that come to you.

GnomeAccording to the 16th century Swiss alchemist Paracelsus, the gnome is able to move through earth in the same manner that a fish swims through water or a human walks through air. Gnomes are associated with the fey, or fairy-folk, and are equated with earthly treasures, earth consciousness, and great knowledge of the magick in rocks, caves, roots, gems, and mountains.

Because gnomes can move through earth like fish swim through water, one can turn to the gnomes to move a block of earth energy within oneself, or a block placed in our path by another.

This spell is particularly good when things have been moving along just fine for you, you’ve been recovering from your debts, sailing ahead and suddenly – thwack! You run into some sort of a block. Before you spend days, weeks, or months worrying, try this spell.

Supplies:

  • 1 cup dirt
  • A sieve
  • A handful (up to 1/2 oz) of ginger or dragon’s blood herb

Instructions:

Over a paper towel or bowl, pour the cup of dirt into the sieve. Add the ginger (or dragon’s blood)

Say:

Element of earth,
move the mountain of ___________ (state what is stuck)

As the ginger (or dragon’s blood) mixes with the earth,
so shall the blocks in my life
be broken gently apart and removed,
so that I may prosper.

As the dirt shakes out of the sieve, visualize the financial problems in your life breaking up and dissolving. Once all the dirt is through the sieve, turn the sieve over and tap it seven times to remove any excess dirt.

Carry the dirt to a crossroads at midnight and dump it there, once again asking the element of earth to gently disperse the negativity in your life with harm to none.

Wash the sieve, asking the element of water to gently cleanse your situation.

You will need paper, pencil (a pen won’t do), and a nice big eraser. A white vanilla scented candle.

800px-Faber-Castell_pencil_and_eraser

Step 1: Light the candle, and then think of one thing in yourself that keeps you from trusting or maybe even hearing your inner voice, your own opinions, your own hopes and dreams.

Step 2: With your pencil, write a description of your block on the piece of white paper.

Step 3: Think about this block for a while, and all the ways in which your life would be improved if it could only be erased.

Step 4: Pick up the eraser, and begin to erase what you wrote on the paper. As you are erasing, say the following prayer three times:

Lady, cleanse me of this block.
Help me know through and through that:
the earth has wisdom, my body has wisdom,
a tree has wisdom, my heart has wisdom,
a bird has wisdom, my mind has wisdom,
Lady, cleanse me of this block.

Help me realize:
an ocean holds knowledge, just so does my mind
a fox has wiles, just so am I wily;
a child knows God, and so do I.
Help me find my innate wisdom and knowledge.

Lady, cleanse me of this block.
Help me know of these things:
common sense feeds the soul;
lyrical mysticism and visionary hope
belong in the everyday world;
I can grow and stretch a bit spiritually, every day.

Step 5: If any smudges or pencil marks remain on the paper, if any trace of the original writing can still be seen, take the pencil now and turn them into stars, spirals, flowers, and suns. When there is no trace left of what you originally wrote, the ritual is complete. Snuff the candle and say:

Thank you Goddess.
