Floundering Around

During the three and a half weeks that I was without internet, I thought it would be a good idea to go ahead and write some rough drafts for the Encyclopedia of Herbology. And I learned something … having done a bunch of research and reading, my interest in those various herbs has waned. My curiosity has been sated… and I am having a really hard time getting that stuff finished and uploaded.

I also have a lot that I’d like to say about current events… but I have so much that I’d like to say that I can’t figure out how to get started. It’s like I can’t find my way in.

As a result, I’ve been taking the easy way out and posting memes. Not sure if today will be much different, but I hope so, because I really did research a bunch of stuff, and I really do have some strong opinions that I would like to share while they are still relevant.

That being said. here’s what’s new:

Down The Rabbit Hole Again

So I fell down the Rabbit Hole today… big time! I decided to post something simple. LOL! And it got complicated really fast. Here’s what happened:

I thumbed through my herb book for a quick and easy herb and right away found something short and sweet about Arborvitae… which after about 15 minutes of research… turned into a much longer and very confusing journey. Here are the highlights:

  • Eastern Red Cedar and Western Red Cedar are two completely different species.
  • Arborvitae, is also Thuga.
  • Or it could simply be called  Yellow Cedar
  • But it isn’t really a “Cedar”
  • Western Red Cedar is a Juniper that is completely different from the OTHER Juniper
  • No wait… they are almost the same.
  • Plus, in the category of “Cedar” and “Juniper” there are a bunch of other trees that may or may not have the same medicinal or magickal qualities.

Like I said… confusing. I am however starting to make sense of it, and by the time the day is done, I will have a bunch of posts I think. Here’s the first one:

More is on the way. Trust me, I have so many tabs open on my laptop that I can’t even believe it! And here we go:

Which also means that the following pages have been newly updated:

Ok.. that took all day and now I’m done. I hope you find something you enjoy.

And so it goes…

I spent years… literally… wishing I didn’t have to work a regular job so that I could spend all my time on my website, making art, working on my property, doing cool shit. And then BAM! Global pandemic! I am stuck at home. Couldn’t go anywhere even if I wanted to. And apparently unable to do anything productive at all… nothing… nada… zip.

Of course, there were the months previous full of depression and sadness, and doing pretty much nothing at all. So, now I am making a stab at being productive. Not sure if there is really any point to it, but back on my laptop, and posting.

Wish me luck and send me some good energy and hope for the future!

Feeling Discouraged

I really shouldn’t ever look at my stat counter reports because it always discourages me, especially when I know I have uploaded some really cool stuff, and nobody sees it. And then when page views go down… well… sigh…

And I keep telling myself that it really doesn’t matter, because I enjoy my website, I like how it challenges me to learn about all kinds of different stuff, and it gives me an easy way to save and share ideas and insights with family and friends.

Plus, it’s a complicated site, and not really in sync with the way things are normally done, so there’s that….

Also, there’s the Google thing. Google pretty much determines who sees what, and what gets seen when a person does a search. Their algorithms are tweaked to benefit Google’s bank account. And my website doesn’t do Google any financial favors. We are ad free. So there’s that!

So that’s my rant for the day. And now on to the posting of stuff that I have uploaded today:

This is a hot mess of a list. Most of the posts are random stuff that I wanted to clear out of folders because I am tired of looking at them. They can be found at More Cool Pictures, and Totally Random.

The Hawaiian Healing Technique is pretty interesting if you have never heard of Ho’oponopono. The 20 Ways To Maintain A Healthy Level Of Insanity is a fun read. I might even try a couple of the things on the list. The Sign Of Purification post is a Native American Prophecy which you might find interesting.

Things I Remember really got to me. It’s what I remember about my childhood, and brought up a lot of old emotions. So, now I’m feeling done with the internet and ready for a some fresh air and a nap… or maybe just a nap.

Current News

It’s been a while since I posted here, so this is a small update.  My winter depression took me by surprise this year, and got the better of me early on. Usually I’m better prepared. So, I’ve spent the last several weeks being depressed and playing the Sims. I realized it was time to put the game away when I was trying to think about my favorite tree… and the only trees I could visualize in my mind were trees from my game.

What I love about the Sims is that I can make my people do what they need to do in order to be happy. It would be so great if I could do the same for myself in my real life, but the part of me that makes me do things I don’t want to do appears to be broken. Sigh…

Anyway, I’m back posting again. So much more is still to come, and I’m looking forward to filling up all the pages with cool and interesting stuff which will hopefully be useful to those of you who visit my little piece of the world wide web.

Just A Note

Starting_to_sew_a_quilt sizedReworking this website is like making a patchwork quilt out of a whole bunch of different fabrics, and trying to piece it all together in a coherent whole, without leaving actual holes anywhere, all the while not really knowing how to sew, and having to do it all by hand…

I did, however, update the site map. 🙂
